I like my guy friend and im a guy to is he gay?

ok i have a friend who ive had for 4 years and i realy like him i have always had truble knowing if he is gay or straight thats why i need your help. we have always done some pretty weird stuff but laitly its been getting weirder, about a couple of mounths ago we i started to do more stuff to him like say i love you when we hung up the phone after talking and he would say i love you back, so i wanted to try more, he would cuddle me when he was at my house, and he would always tlk about a three sum with me, him and a girl. one day when i hurted him i hugged him as a joke but in reality i wasnt joking i hugged him tight and he huged my tight rite back so as this kept on going on the more i liked him and one day when we were layin their i said "if i kissed you would you get mad" and his responce was "where?" and i said "on the lips" and he said "no" but i was too much of a coward to do anything. now im writing to you to ask if hes gay? he says hes not but he is not doing a good job of proving it. help!
