I know i need to network but i can't get myself to do it

I graduated from a top undergrad school and got a masters in my field from a top school as well. However, I've been working for 4 years and it feels my career has stagnated.

I get it.. it's WHO, not WHAT you know that's gonna get you a better job. However, I haven't been keeping touch with many people from grad school and none of my close friends work in my industry.

I tried reaching out to some random people who work at the companies I want to work for on LinkedIn and it's been quite exhausting to say the least.. meeting people for coffee after a long day at work or rushing through the lunch break to meet new people. After a while, it feels like you're basically begging others to give you a better job even if you don't say it directly.

Linkedin is a work related social network service. I think s/he was talking about that

I agree with ithink?: I am kind of in the same boat with majoring in a field I am not particularly excited about.
For connections, try your academic adviser?

working in a stagnant feild is not a good idea because you will get footrot. so its cool that you wanna work for linkin park but theyre musicians and they might not accept someone with just a farming background. sorry hun. start somewhere smaller and build up to there. like a different field or paddock maybe.

I think if it is a field or something you love. Then it should be easier to meet people in the same field. Because you will have more in common. And more to talk about. So i think the point is to find what you love. Be specific. And good luck

It's exhausting for all of us to make it in this world -- whether starting a new career, changing careers, or even just getting through each workday. At least you are well-educated. Sounds like life could be a lot worse for you than it is.
