That happened to me once when I was raking a nap. It is just because your mind is awake but your body isn't fully rested yet
Yeah I just learned about this in my neurobio class. This used to happen to me and I thought I was being attacked by a ghost or something. It turns out that it's just sleep paralysis. So when it happens to me now, I don't really get scared anymore.
Yes it is normal. In fact, my psychology professor was just talking about this last week. Sometimes if a person wakes up too suddenly they are temporarily paralyzed. It is totally normal and nothing to worry about. It is just a matter of waiting for your brain to adjust to its waking state.
I go throught that alot. Just happened to me yesterday. So painful, my friend and I were talking about that today. Makes my brain hurt, so much concentration :P
Yes it is normal. When we all sleep our bodies are paralysed so that we do not act out our sleep. When you wake up instead of your body going straight back to it's natural state (Movement, speach etc) it is still paralysed. So although you are awake, your body is not awake.
This isnt some dumb out of body experience your soul isnt leaving your body, its called sleep paralysis and the way I coped with it was I just went back to sleep and woke up later amd could move.
I BELIVE YOUR STILL ASLEEP...
ITS JUST ONE PART OF YOUR BRAIN ISNT
THE FRONTAL LOBE IS AWAKE
IT DOESNT TRIGGER MOVEMENT
TELL ME IF IM WRONG

I had this too. I discovered that if I tried to urinate, the paralysis would instantly go away (I did not actually wet the bed).
i dont know about sleep paralysis, but i does sound like astral projection or an OBE(out of body experience), which is when your spiritual body leave your physical body. some symptoms of it would be body paralysis, shakes, voices, music, busing, feeling like your sinking. to over come this just calm down, their are no bad effects of astral projection and if you fully separate from your physical body. you can go anywhere in the world, visit people you know, even meet dead people. and to get back to your physical body just think about it. like i said earlier their are no bad effects and you can learn to do it anywhere, but if you dont want to have a OBE just think on moving your fingers
It is normal. It's called sleep paralysis, look it up. Don't worry, I get it too :)
yea.. i think this is normal becuz this happened to me and it was torture!i couldnt move or even ask anyone for help... i finally forced my leg to move and i woke up...scary
That happens to me a lot. It feels like I'm inevitably being sucked into a vacuum and I'm underwater and stuff. Then I start hearing voices, and I can't move. One time I got up all the strength I had and sat up but this force knocked me back down. It's a sickening feeling to be paralyzed. But no, I definitely wouldn't say it's normal.
