I keep having this health problem?

I have this problem, it only happens when I do a lot of physical activity, it pisses me off and it stems from my chest. I have heartburn, but for some reason when I get it I start burping, just gross rediculous burps that taste like fire and it makes my throat scratchy. I'm only 22 and I'm otherwise okay, but I don't know what to do because every time I lift weights this horrible problem builds in my stomach and I just uncontrollably burp, sometimes I even vomit.

Acid reflux, GERD, dyspepsia, upper digestive problems, lots of names for this. Many people suffer from it, but most end up treating the symptoms and not the root cause. Working out can cause ANXIETY for the body. Be sure to drink lots of WATER, and dont eat a big meal before working out. Manage your stress levels and get proper sleep. Consult a doctor

Are you seriously suggesting acid reflux is caused by anxiety? It's an overproduction of acid and easy to remedy with the correct medication.

Drinking enough water and not eating a big meal before exercise is standard and nothing to do with reflux

Over the counter acid reducers and antacids only treat the symptom-- when there is acid already in the stomach. To solve the problem you have to find the root cause (differentfor everyone) but ANXIETY and DEPRESSION are a major cause of acid reflux. Treating these problems is more complex but living a happier more positive life WILL reduce acid reflux

What are you, some kind of homeopath or naturopath or other newage shyster? Acid Reflux is caused by the stomach producing too much acid, which can happen for a number of reasons, anxiety and depression not being any of them. Research references would be a good idea if you have genuine evidence for your theory.

How many people's personal experience? Easy to tell that I put you on the spot asking for actual proof of your silly assertions because now you've resorted to childish crude attempts at insults .....

    Sounds like acid reflux.

I'd get this sometimes. It seems like it more or less happens when I do a lot of activity at once without any prior warm up.

    Anyway check with a doctor.

Beat me to it, I reckon reflux too - the scratchy throat is a dead giveaway.

A friend told me yesterday that here (Aus) it's now possible to buy the reflux medication over the counter, but that may not be the case everywhere.

Try this quick and easy fix.

It helps not only for acid but also for longer workouts. Mix baking soda and water before you work out and drink it. Google the amounts etc and also Google Lactic Acid, Baking soda before work out.

Educated yourself before you try it.

Yea like they said sounds like acid reflux I don't don't get it much but when it does happen I eat a apple theres something about how the apple reacts with the acidic feeling that neutralizes it. I would look into the preventative stuff to but I always have a apple in my gym bag or purse just in case becos I literally can not stand how it feels its almost like a claustrophobia of sorts comes over me I want to get away from the feeling and I just can't. And every kind of apple I tried works but I'm sort of a Granny Smith fan so thats what I use.
