I just feel this way. and it's so sad.

No I am not black. But I am an American. I feel as though this cop shot this man because he was black. Under the circumstances a white man would have been handled differently. We all know this. Now don't we? I just feel this way. And it's so sad.

People, white or black, who don't see it at this point are choosing not to see it. If that's you, you have your head buried in the sand.

I'm not even American, and trust me the cat's out the bag to everyone looking from the outside. From the police brutality to the oversized military to the xenophobia to the religious extremism, everyone sees it.

I do not know what man you are speaking about, and I am neither American. But I do think that cops aren't just going to shoot an innocent man unless provoked.

If you haven't bothered to inform yourself why are you commenting? If you think cops never shoot or assault innocent people you're living in dreamland.

Cops never shot anyone innocently where I live. So as a proud European, I must say, why is America so fucked up? Race is just a factor, if this cop shot a black man, then this cop must be mentally insane, doesn't mean it's because of race, something else could've ticked him off. Also, you Americans have so many shootings, it's hard to keep up sometimes!

The OP didn't specify what case they were talking about.

The OP is talking about a black man who was murdered by a police officer in the state of Louisiana, USA. An investigation is underway. I say it was murder. The man's wife and child were in the vehicle when this cop shot this man.

How do you know? Is it because you are a black cop this week, gypsy?

Actually the shooting you're referring to was in Minnesota. There was a different black man murdered in Louisiana.

Heres a interesting tidbit from the Washington Post article...

"Castile is at least the 506th person shot and killed by police so far in 2016, according to a Washington Post database that tracks such shootings.

He is one of 123 black Americans shot and killed by police so far in 2016, according to the database."

So... a little more than 20% of the ppl killed by police this year were black. This means nearly 80% were something else. Why don't those stories blow up the media? Is it becos they lack a hashtag? Food for thought.

3.25 blacks per million have been killed by police this year while only 1.41 whites per million. Are we conveniently going to ignore that fact?

Are you aware that black people, even though they are a minority, commit most of the crimes in the USA? A cop isn't going to shoot unless provoked. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

Are you aware that black people tend to live in a poorer neighborhood than white people? This wouldn't happen if slavery didn't exist. Some people are called racist for a reason.

As a white person, who comes from a poor background, still am poor, student working in fast food, I do not commit violent crimes. Believe me, I'd love to, but I'm not that insane.
Relating to your slavery argument: OK so three generations ago, my grandfathers were all alcohols, does that mean that I still feel their effects today? Not really, no one in my immediate family is. So why are you talking about something that happened years ago? Black people = victim mentality AKA mentally putting themselves down and not helping themselves by being involved in illegal behaviour. Call me racist, sure. I do not take pride in being white, I didn't have a choice what race I've been born to, I don't care.

Is there a point to your rambling? So you're a poor white guy who doesn't commit crime. And there are tons of poor black guys who do not commit crime.
Other things being equal (similar education level, work experience etc.) a white man is more likely to get a job than a black man. And stating that is victim mentality?

But you're not a cop, you don't have to racially profile people every day as part of your job in which you may get shot and killed yourself...

yeaaa but come on! do you see cops walking down the streets and shooting black teenagers because of their color?

come on now, you know its because he feels that some people, not matter which race is a threat

the reason why we hear of blacks being shot, is because some are so aggressive in the hood

walk into the hood and tell me you dont see anybody suspicious looking, selling drugs, prositution, ect

        all over LA, chicago, detroit

          Yeah, totally..
But then (imo) they should be extra careful about who they .....shoot... because the tendency would be to shoot people just because they're black (given half an excuse) - and I get what you're saying; they're job is all day dealing with "baddies" who all *just happen* to be black, so of course you'd develop a bias - and rightly so.
But it doesn't really excuse it, either, ya know?

to them drugs are illegal and bad yea, and to drug dealers, obviously they dont give a shit lol

well i mean yea. if you're in a hood dominated by 90% people that are black, what do you expect if a black guy gets shot, and then its on the news?

they happen to be black because the media is trying to divide us by color. they PURPOSELY focus only on black people getting killed, and try to make the shit look as racist as POSSIBLE. when its really not racist

            its just everyday life

i mean i agree. i can see why you've been tricked into believing its racist. but we gotta stop believing what the media tells us. they're lying to us! they want us to be against each other! the media is controlled. by corrupt rich people who pay the media off

the media is no longer truthful. they're liars and decievers
