I just don't get it for finding work.

Lately as my job is almost over as it ends on April 15th, I have been tearing apart the internet to find work. I've applied in over 25 different jobs and I have not received anything back except for one, maybe. I just don't get it and why the hell would anyone do this if they didn't have to. (The average job last for 3.5 years according to what the taught in college.)

I make okay money where I am leaving but the hours offered really suck. It would be nice to have a week with "Full Time" just once. I like my job but a person cannot survive on "foodstamps" and I really would like to continue to work in between seasons.

Does interviewing and looking for work suck for everyone? Do people actually enjoy the feeling of being judged or going the extra mile for a job that will probably be given to someone else with lower education or experience? Is it okay to just settle for a job that is far lower than what I should go for as it is just "there?"

Any comments would be nice. Off the subject but how can a person get 2+ years of office experience if nobody wants a new office person? Does a person really have to do the "internship" for free first? Is this all true or is it just in my head.

    i think you need to go out in person more, anyone and there mother uses the net every one on social assistance uses the net, only way to get YOUR foot in the door is literally stick your foot in the door.

    But hey I'm still young enough...
    Besides my lifestyle after college willl be recession proof.

    Depends on many things, from your communication skills, a well-written.resume, and the job requirements being in congruence with your abilities. If your a two-year art student and are applying for jobs that require masters degree in physics, then your shopping with the wrong cart. A bit extreme of an example, but do you get the point?

          Lastly though, being all honest. I did offer my first chapter to my novel and believe me, you could sell that a hell of a lot easier than an essay written from a retard.

    I know how you feel about the job hunt. I remember applying at like 50 different jobs, and I was lucky to hear back from 5. Then I realised I had forgotten to include "bilingual" on my resume. After upon doing so, I heard from like 5 different places within two days! So having a second language often helps. It certainly does in Canada! Now to find a WELL-PAYING job... that's another story...

      Yeah, I am going to be blunt and honest here.

      I should not have to learn the beaner language to get a job here in the United States. I think it is rather sad on Tuesday where I had to sit and wait for a receptionish who couldn't do her job worth a damn but was hispanic and could speak that god awful language. I am seriously thinking of going to school just to learn it although I don't want to.

      Yeah, I will continue trying and won't give up. I am sure one of my many job applications I put in today should work.

      I'm not a racist for saying that either Tygertheskank, I have a right to be annoyed with a different culture's ideas as you do being one of them toward us.

    You are borderline unemployable and employable. Your marginal & borderline ability is also reflected in your commentary on this site, so little wonder it is your experience in the labour market.

    I will give it to you Bud for at least trying to make a better person of yourself in the job market. You will get feedback there, similar to here, that you will not want to hear.

    You will also reject it, as you do here. But the difference is: here doesn't matter. in the real world of jobs etc. it does matter.

    If you don't listen and learn, you will not be economically viable.

    Once again, I love how nothing is ever your fault and you damn me every chance you get. Although this was clearly my story, I never mentioned my name as the author and to just assume that is mine to start your crap is rather inefficient.

    If you found out that it wasn't my story, would you apologise or just assume that your rant is justified and keep it? If that is the case, I didn't attack you on this story so you to add your "pity party" to it just shows that you are nothing more than a problem starting instigator.

      3.) Obviously it's rather simple for me to determine whether or not this is your story. Although, your journal entries are insanely easy to spot.

        Let me respond back to what you wrote before as well as I just did for Simba on the other story. I will break it into parts to go with your numbers.

        1. I was wrong and I am sorry. I was at work when I wrote it and didn't really see that one comment of yours, just was more focused on the line of crap that you send to me. The advice was okay but not really helpful as I have already be doing more than just that.

        2. As I am not sure what you are talking about, I think your annoyed at what I mean now, on this story or something. I have been annoyed at your constant and shallow arguments toward me. Often, I get a bunch of crap that is extremely off and you are a huge contributer of this problem. So, I guess that is what you are doing wrong.

        3. It should be, it is call writing style. Just like I could tell that "budshutup" is that Tyger person. People write, reguardless of training, on what they know. HENSE WHY I BITCH AT IDIOTS FOR WRITING LIKE A 'TARD HALF THE TIME. If you write ninety percent of the time like a moron, don't expect to be a perfect writer when you do need to write fine and professional. It is a moot point though as nobody seems to care but me.

        4. King of throne? I am commenting back on my own stories and your group is attacking me here. Trust me, if this was a real throne with a kingdom, the land would have been so badly tore up that it would not be valuable anymore to steal.

        King of what? If I am truly crazy and annoying, then your group should just leave me alone and hope that I would get bored and move on. Just like a fire, to stop it you starve it, not constantly feed it. Even when forest fires are put out by starting other fires, you are still killing the fire by starving it instead of adding to it. Same idea here, stop feeding me if you don't like it whatever. I'm bored of this argument now.

    It doesn't make any sense that you think a successful business would hire the least qualified person for the job. It would make sense if you were trying to get into a fast food restaurant as that typically does not need first-class education... and yet you continue to state that you want an office job.

    The truth is that some businesses only acknowledge certain "brands", if you will, of education. For instance, on-line college classes are viewed as laziness; open-door schools like Devry and Pheonix are a little higher up; four-year universities are the norm and ivy league is gold standard. Maybe that might help with why you are getting no bites.

    However, I do agree that it is hard to get office experience when no one will hire you. Just keep searching.

      All joking aside, when you have no experience, you have to work your way up. There will always be someone more qualified than you, no matter who you are. Print out some resumes and walk in to these places in person and introduce yourself.
