I can't help it, but I judge you based on your username.

Some names are fun, so I assume you are. Some names don't make any sense, so I'm not sure what to think. And some remind me of pet peeves or annoying things and I have a really hard time taking you seriously. Sorry. I do try to ignore it but the urge to be a judgemental bitch is overwhelming. If I dont like your name, it may take a while befor I can even read your comment without rolling my eyes. But on the other side, if I like your name, you may be able to get away with unnecessary rudeness.

I know, it's terrible. But is it normal?

That makes sense. It's the first thing you notice about people here. A username is like clothing we wear on this site. Familiarity increase with the things we say in comments and builds upon that image, but that takes a while.

Would it help if everyone explained why they choose their username?

I'm surprised this has so many normal votes, seems like such an unfair way to judge someone, going into reading their comments with a bias.

Also it's not always an accurate description, my name isn't kingofcarrotflowers because I like carrots or flowers, people have thought it's a sensitive name as it contains flowers when it's actually a song
