I it normal that people are nice to you when you are not?

I feel like when I am smiling and extremely polite to someone (whether it be at work, school, or at a business) they are extremely rude or look down on me. However, when I am stern and without a smile, people would act nice towards me. I've noticed this happening, and when I see that they are being nice, I act nice back. Then they turn into total douche nozzles. Is this normal? Has it happened to anyone else?

Yes, I noticed that too. I think it's because they feel sorry or scared when you're rude, so they try to lighten up the mood. But if you're nice, they feel comfortable and can be thenselves.
So I guess only jerks akt that way. A truly nice person will be friendly when you're friendly.

    Maybe it's your face.

Maybe your happy face is ugly and your angry face is funny.
