I've been bleeding for almost 3 weeks. (Since December 15. It's now January 6th.)

I'm 18, and I've had irregular periods for a long time, although I've never gone to a doctor for it.

I don't mean to sound crude, but it started very light, but now is at a normal flow with large clots.

Has anyone else experienced this? What could be causing this?

    Honey, so not normal. Wondering why the 3 wks of bleeding didn't scare you to a doctor already.

    Yeah, it happened to me due to a hormonal imbalance and would vary from light bleeding to heavy flows. I started on birth control and it's worked for me.
