I have two personalities.

I've always had two personalities.

At school, I'm always outgoing, yet relaxed and laid back. I'm known around the school as really funny and a prankster. Alot of people know me. I'm kind of a jock too, I'm a starting WR for the football team.

At home and with family, Im reserved, super quiet, and serious. I'm really secret about my school and other life at home, and my mom doesn't have a clue. I make good grades too, and I manage to almost never get in trouble because the dean at my school loves me. My mom thinks my personality at home is my personAlity at school, which is good.

Is it normal?

  • I'm quite the opposite :O
I am reserved and serious at school, and the contrary at home. Everyone always calls me on this.

i am kind of the same as you, at home my father almost carries with him a negative atmosphere, and i feel awful in his presence, and usually avoid him. when he is drunk he is okay. and i adapt to this presence by acting depressed, my father has suggested i go to see a doctor, but the rest of my family knows i can be very jolly.

It's normal. My husband doesn't know I have a sense of humor. He doesn't have a sense of humor so I don't interact with him in a humorous way. I think our behavior changes based on the situation and the reaction we expect from others.

I knew it wasn't just me! I told my bf that, but he said it was like being manipulating and that I shouldn't have different personalities with different people. He even went so far as to say it was like living a lie. But I can't help it, with my friends I act different than with for example my parents. And I act different with my bf than my friends. And he thinks that's wrong.

I used to be the person so hyper everyone thought I was on drugs at school, and at home I was so serious my parents kept trying to drag me in to a clinic for depression.
In other words, its completely normal. You react socially in part to your surroundings and peers.

  • Yah it's normal diffrent ppl know you for diffrent things

  • That sounds stupid. Why would you need to act different around certain people? I don't blame your bf for saying that either, it's hard to trust someone who can't be themselves around everyone they know.

Why is that stupid? Everyone has different sides of their personality, and you show different people the different sides of you to better match their personalities. Nothing wrong with that imo, they still know "the real" you, since there's no "fake".
