I have tried to kill myself more then once

I'm not suicidal now I take meds and such to stop the thoughts when they pop up.

But I have tried to kill myself multiple times in the past for different reasons each time I failed because someone stopped it or because it just didn't work.

Has anyone else tried to end themselves more then once?

I am doing therapy now just to note which is why I don't have that many issues and things are a lot more better.

    I tried a few times because the world was too confusing. It's still confusing but I've somewhat learned how to calm everything down.

      Thank you and to be honest I gave up on trying to kill myself because like I said many things kept happening that stop each attempt. I'm just waiting for old age to take me and I have a long long way for that.

    I’ve tried killing myself three times. First time with 30 pills of Tylonal when I was 15. That didn’t work. I threw up most of it and then tried to go to school the next day but I was so out of it they called the cops and hospitalized me. The second time I was 16 and it was a mixture of pills and cutting. Didn’t work. The last time was when I was 17 and I took a handful of mood stabilizers. Didn’t work. I just threw it up and felt like shit for a couple of days. I stopped trying because obviously pills alone rarely work. If I had access to a gun I would probably succeed. I’m glad you suck at killing yourself though. You are strong.

    I tried once in 2007. I just tell myself I will kill myself next year to ease the pressure and usually things have changed by then. I think suicidal thoughts are more common than you think. People who never get depressed must be oblivious to all the problems in the world. So glad you're getting help. Best wishes.

    Does it make you feel sad that you've never succeeded? or like happy?

      I can't really say if I'm sad or happy about it I just try to live my life now just waiting for old age to take me but I'm young so I have a long way to go for that.

    The fact that you seem to get interrupted when you try to end your life leads me to believe that God, and the Universe want you to continue to exist!

        I think it's understandable that you feel that way. Depression is can really make everything in life so much harder.

        It's really good that you are in therapy and taking meds. Always read the side effects of the meds, and let your doctor know if you are having any problems with the medication.

    Ive only gotten suicidal once. One time i caught a dangerous infection, didnt have money for meds or hospital. The pain from that disease was unbearable and i wanted to end it all. I was very surprised that there was a pain that even i could not endure.

      I would say the worst for me was drowning I held myself under the water of my bath I inhaled the water and trust me it did not feel good. I honestly thought I would have died that time but it clearly didn't work woke up in the hospital apparently my father was the one that saved me. Never really had an infection before but it sounds painful if you wanted it to end.

    I was going to cut one time but my shitty pocket knife wouldnt break skin, eventually i met someone who made me not want to die, but she hates me now so ive got no idea what happens from here on out

      I had tried that I almost bleed to death but one of my friends ended up taking me to the hospital. Didn't die clearly but my left arm is fucked up can't really feel anything and it's hard to move it.
