I have the rarest blood type

Well, here's the story. My dad is blood type AB positive, my mother 0. According to blood type tables of what possibilities the child can have, you will quickly notice that the child of these parents can only be A or B.

BUT, I am 0.

I found a scientist that researched this matter, and he found that the chance of this occurring is 1 to 1'000'000'000, so there are only about 7 other people on earth that have this.

He also found that people with this rare defect are always vegetarian. And I can say that this is true, because I AM a vegetarian.

Unfortunately, I was unable to contact this scientist, since he died 10 years ago.

So I ask you : I have probably the rarest defect on earth, and I don't know what to do about it... What should I do?

No way the rarest blood type is the one that doesn't exist.

Why would you need to do anything? You're the universal donor, what blood bank doesn't carry this?

I think you misunderstand the nature of unique. (we all are)

Rarest blood type case makes more sense then rarest blood type. That changes every thing.
In that case don't worry about it. :)

  • Well, it wouldn't really make sense that being a vegetarian influences it, because your blood type is determined before you're born. Unless your mom was vegetarian. And theresaberry, that isn't necessarily true because the - stands for whether u have rh or not. So in other words, having o- blood would mean u are o with no rh.

I am O negative. I had to have shots after both kids. Otherwise if I didn't the next kid could die because my body would build antibodies and try to kill the fetus. American Red Cross is always calling me to donate. Anyone can receive my blood, but I can only recieve O negative. Do some research on what kind of blood you can receive if needed.

your blood type isn't any diffrent than anyone else with O blood, so I don't understand why it really matters. and since it sounds like all you did is google it, you should probly get a paternity test to see if your dads your real dad or at least get some current information cause a lot changes in over ten years.

I probably got the title wrong when saying that I have the rarest blood type :P I meant to say that I have the rarest CASE in blood types.

Anyway, the chance of this case occurring is 1 to 1'000'000'000.
