I have no wardrobe

I'm 22 years old and I still don't have a wardrobe I'm satisfied with. I can pick maybe two outfits I'm good to wear right now, maybe 3 at best. One for going out, one for going out somewhere nice, and one for winter. The rest is just stuff I can't seem to match or his not my size anymore. I am an extra-small (male) so you can imagine how frustrating it can be to shop for anything. I'd like to do it online but I don't have the funds for all the shipping costs, among other things.

I know what looks good, and what doesn't, but when it comes to being inside the store I can't seem to mentally match clothing. It's only when I put it on do I realize if it works or not and by then its too late. Getting a sweater for some jeans I have at home can even be a dilemma for me.

Am I a lost cause. Is there any help for me?

Constructive criticism is appreciated.

Try on clothes in the dressing room before you buy them. There might be clothing colour guides that you can find online. Or, you could bring someone with you to help you find something that matches.

Just learn fashion. Look at other peoples styles and take what you like from them. Learn how stuff should fit together and go from there.

I don't suggest letting a female or anyone else pick your clothes for you. Imo your clothes should be a reflection of you. Not what someone else thinks looks good on you.

And i suggest you learn to dress more conservative.

For example buy three pairs of jeans. Black, Dark blue raw denim, and distressed blue denims.

Buy three pairs of boots. All black, all white, and tan desert boots.

Then all you gotta do to make a nice outfit is simply throw on a nice t-shirt/sweater that matches with your jeans and boots. Will be almost impossible to "not match' when you keep things kinda basic and conservative. And if you wanna stand out just add accessories that are popular in your area.

I used to have the same problem as you when i tried to build actual outfits one by one instead of building a wardrobe as a described above. If you build a decent quality wardrobe all your clothes will naturally fit together.

Last time I bought clothing for myself was probably 4 years ago. My stuff just magically appears it seems.

Anyway, I have no dress sense but I don't care.

So either don't care... or get a shopping buddy like reminiscent over there. pay her in hoodies. Chicks dig hoodies.

Well you could go shopping with someone that could help you match things.
bring in the clothing you wish to match...such as the jeans ...if you bring them in and show them to the store person that they are your clothing it should be fine.

Also some online stores have it if you spend a certain amount of money you can get free shipping...so you could save until you have that amount then buy.

I love shopping lol...and would love to help you out but obviously I cant as you most likely dont live anywhere close and I dont know what you look like. Lol XD

I agree if you don't know fashion or aren't sure, get someone to go with you most females are happy to be shopping buddies. You will have to try things on though!

Are you a gay guy? I can't imagine a modern straight guy being so hung up on his 'wardrobe'.
Get a few pair of regular, old fashioned jeans and a few plaid shirts and everything will be fine. Mixing and matching is so yesterday. Dress to be comfortable.

For one just because someone wants to match ...or wants to look good or feel good about how they do look...does not make them gay.

No, but the way the OP phrased everything is very gay. Second, very few men I've ever known use the terms mix and match, that's way poofter gay.
A few pair of jeans and a plaid shirts will do the job just fine; you are a woman, don't you agree?

I cant say I do as I dont think its right to assume someones sexual orientation ...unless they state it...I know your not gay because you haven mentioned a wife and child before ...you should know im not based on the fact i have said I have a bf.

Also I know my bf before he asked me out went and had his hair cut and styled and got a whole new wardrobe with the help of his cousin.

However on most men a short sleeve plaid shirt open with a matching shirt under it and a pair of nice jeans looks good.
