I have no idea what i want to do in life ...

Is it normal to have no idea what you want to be and take from life. Im fresh out of high school and dont have any experience working. I'm already thinking about leaving the house, but how can I do that without money, a job, a career? Can you help me with your stories of finding where you belonged and how you discovered your calling?

write down your values, what is important to you. Put some thought into it. Then from there set short term and long term goals. First concentrate on short term ones, and think of the tasks required to achieve these. Do away with negative thinking and take action. Good luck.

    • Yes I like that. So far I have come up with two goals that I can probably make into careers, I'll do more research, but like another commenter has said 'if its what you love, its not work'.

I knew from the age of 6 what I wanted to do. At 12 I started to do it and I've been doing it for 56 years.
My suggestion is to find something you like to do and make that your profession. Don't worry about money, status or security, because if you choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

    • I know that that can happen, you become oblivious to the working life style because you love what you do, but the world revolves around money. It may be because I've gotten lazy or mabey I'm just self conscious but it's hard for me to go out and get whats mine.

Well you are still young so you have time.

I first figued out what I wanted to do as soon as I had a crayon and paper...literally ever since I could remember I just wanted to be an artist.

    Do you have any hobbies?
You can sit in on a few college classes if you are unsure of what you want to do...you can sit in on a class for free.

    • I am an artist too. Really everyone in my family is, that's just not my cup of tea as I have gotten older. It seems like you love art, but can you really make a living as an unprofessional artist?

        Yes and no
I just do projects here and there my bf works and im an at home mom.

If you really wanted you could do it full time and make a decent living...everyone starts out unknown you just have to use tools available to you to become more known.

Do some searching (Online and Around town). I'm sure you'll find something. What do you like to do? Start from there. Then once you figure that out, you can look up the requirements to get that job.

    • Well, I do love animals, any kind or breed. I was thinking about electricians. That's was something I never really looked into before but it seems like that may be suitable for me. Electricians make the same amount as truckers more or less, so if anything I would look more into becoming a trucker, mainly because uour training to travel. I should really look into internships or shadowing.
