I have sleep paralysis... (like a lot of people) but mine is strange. The other night I had a dream that someone tied me up, was trying to cut me apart, and was going to pour acids on me.

I woke up in sleep paralysis (aware of surroundings, but cant move) but I was still dreaming, while in this situation. I heard the man that wanted to kill me in my closet, banging on the door, and yelling. And I could see the door knob shaking.

Then my door opened up, and I could see my hallway, and my roommmate walking. I was able to move, and since i saw my door open... I bolted right for it.... except, I saw it open.... but it was really closed, and I ran into the door..... but I saw it open.

Everything went back to normal, and my roommate had been walking in the hallway, in the same outfit I saw when I was dreaming.... I saw through the closed door!

What is going on? I dont do drugs... i'm an adult..... I'm scared though. This isn't just a normal nightmare.... I really thought I was going to die.... or I was dead.

    Hey friend, I have experienced this myself in past years, its mostly created by anxiety. Sleep paralysis because of its half sleep half wakeful nature can be scary and feel extremely real. The reason you saw your roomate dressed in the same clothes as your dream is because for a brief second you saw him when your mind was awake, and then your mind slipped back into dream sleep. Once I was awoke in sleep paralysis with a half man half dog thing on me, I've also seen my suitemate at his computer and had him move instantly as if he teleported. Its all normal. Try working on your worries, your brain is too active.

      I hate dreaming, nightmares ect.. I would be bricking it if i had a nightmare. Sometimes they come true y'know.

    Whoa, ok we need to talk. I thought I was possessed or something or had schizophrenia. Tell me if this sounds like what happens with you. Sometimes I'm completely paralyzed while I'm awake, or sleeping, I can't tell, but everything around me is how it should be. Except I hear voices that say terrifying things and feel footsteps all around the bed, but when I shake myself out of the trance, nothing's there, and I'm sucked right back into paralyzation like it's a vacuum. Like while I'm paralyzed I'll very realistically feel like I'm playing with a necklace with my fingers and I wake up and my fingers are perfectly still with no necklace. And sometimes I levitate. My arms will go up, then my head - and I'm completely paralyzed while it's happening. I had no idea there was something called "sleep paralysis"

    i had a dream like htat except the door was your mom and it wasnt a man banging on the closet it was me banging on your mom

    Subconcious. You could have seen them earlier with those clothes on and remembered it somehow. Also you might have heard them walking through while you were asleep and not realised it.

    you should go to a sleep therapist Ive never heard of anything like that before sound quite serious problem maybe psychological

    WOW that is cool, wish I could do that, my dreams are of anorexic Lions chasing me or talking super hero couches (who had Tim Allen's voice) I should makes movies, I think I could be a hit :P
