I have a very strange lump under my skin?

Well, I have a very strange, hard lump on my face and i'm very curious to what it may be. I don't believe I had when I was younger and it isn't noticeable by eye but it is still slightly worrying because I have no idea what it is. It's half a 'ball' under my skin that's a good 1.5 centimeters wide and it's right beside my nostril under the skin. The weird part is that it's hard as bone, and doesn't hurt when I apply pressure. All it feels like is a little piece of bone that lumped in my face, I had never heard of it before so I researched it online but no one had my exact problem. The closest answer was bone cancer, but mine doesn't hurt, move around or get bigger. It's just 'there'. I was hoping someone here had a similar problem and could tell whether to go to a doctor and get it checked out. I don't think it's a big deal since it doesn't bother me physically but I'd like to at least know what it is.

    either way, you really should go to the doctor. whether it hurts or not, it could be bad. hope you are okay and its not cancer or anything like that.

    I have have that lump too, for over a year now and my doctor told me its a gland.... if it doesnt hurt and you can move it around it's not cancer, but most likely a gland.... However I usually say as a peace of mind to go to your doctor anyways because i didn't study medicine...

    Okay, I THINK I have the same thing but on my neck. The thing on my neck doesn't seem like bone, but it seems more tender. The shape is kind of a half-marble, I guess you could say. It doesn't hurt. When I apply pressure it doesn't hurt, but if I circle it (while applying pressure) it somewhat "moves" or "rolls" so to speak. I can feel it, but I can't see it from up close or far away. I found it about two years ago and was really paranoid, and I finally went to the doctor. All he did was touch it and move it around a bit which didn't hurt, and he said it was fine. That was awhile back; it hasn't gotten larger or started to bother me, it's just a bump on my neck that I hardly care about anymore. I hope this is what you're talking about.

    I have a small bump on my right pointer finger that sounds about like the same thing. I have asked my local doctor and they just said that it is nothing serious and that I could get surgery to get it off but I'm just gonna see what happens.

    I've got a lump like that only smaller IN my nostril (yes, discovered through nose picking) I just thought I had an abnormal nasal bone but I guess I should see a doctor!

    Please get it checked by a doctor, they should be able to tell you what it is.

    See a doctor.

    You could be one of those people with a piece of lego / plastic toy lodged under the skin. Let the doctor check it out and help you to stop worrying about it.
