I have no idea why but I had the sudden urge to watch anime out of nowhere. Nothing in the world could possibly be better than watching anime at this current time. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Alright what's so good about that eastern cartoon? Been hearing about this stein gate recently
Steins;Gate was brought to my attention when various people kept telling me the lead character's personality reminded them of me in some ways. So I watched it but I ended up absolutely loving it.
It's a sci-fi time travel romance about physics. The main character is a bit of a troll and likes to do things like walk around talking to no one on his phone, yelling things about "the organization" tracking him. Most people including his landlord think he's harmless but nuts and just brush off him constantly maniacally laughing, claiming to be a mad scientist, and saying he's going to take over the world with the physics projects in his apartment and that he's doing it right in front of them.
Then he meets Makise Kurisu and it turns his world upside down. Makise was a child prodigy and published physics papers as a teenager. He attends one of her lectures in which she's stating that time travel will never be possible and he ends up standing up and basically screaming at her like a lunatic about how she's wrong.
As he's some random she thinks he's a lunatic but also couldn't help noticing he does know a lot about physics. Still she thinks he's basically an idiot and absolutely can't stand him. He talks her into coming to his apartment where she discovers, low and behold, the MF has built a time machine with no external resources and she's suddenly forced to contend with the fact that this guy who doesn't act like a proper scientist (or person) at all, which annoys her, has actually done something the rest of the entire physics community hadn't and even as they constantly bicker relentlessly she begins to look at him like, "Who is this guy _really_? Why is he like this? What's his story?"
Needless to say they're clearly madly in love almost from the start even though they refuse to admit it and as with all time travel stories, their meddling gets messy and it begins to appear maybe "the organization" is very real in a certain sense.
I think for most people the romance is the selling point but I loved every bit of it.
Anime is funny as hell.
I just finished Record of Ragnarok with my lady. Excellent. No plotline, no story, just people making ass-pull over-powered fighting moves and then talking about the logistics of said moves for 4 episodes straight. So good.
I think it's normal to get a sudden urge to experience something you enjoy.
