I have 0 trust in the us government
I have never understood the notion that these ultra rich out of touch people know what is best for you and me.
Capitalism is actually a safe guard against people like this. Dont get me wrong capitalism has its faults. Most of which stem from it not being fair. But what capitalism allows to be done is to allow humans to be humans without the system collapsing. I believe humans have serious a dark side by nature. That is greed. And there will never be a way to take that out of us. But taking power and money from the corporations and business owners and giving it to the government to regulate and distribute to us faces the same threat and that threat is people. People run the government. And whether its a CEO or a politician they are both subject to greed.
Under capitalism CEOs and corporations do not set wages. The market does. Amazon could not come out tomorrow and say "sorry guys we are cutting your wages from 15 an hour to the minimum wage of 7.25 an hour". People would quit. And Amazon would go out of business if it did not change it. You see Amazon has to entice people to work there by competing with the market rate for that job. They in reality dont have as much power over wages as you might think.
Now if government ceased the means of production and now ran amazon and controlled wages nation wide do you think they would pay you fairly? It's possible, at first. But as time goes on and power switches hands eventually you're gonna get a leader that says why are we leaving this much money on the table. Thats the issue. You would be better off not even allowing government the power over your lives. Because we dont need government to run all aspects of our lives. Look at history. There was no income tax before 1913 and the USA was the industrial power house of the world at that time.
