I hate that parents name their children after themselves! Your child is their own person not a mini clone of you, allow them to have their own identity! Not to mention the mail mix ups, the belittling nicknames"big Frank or Little a Frank" , aaaargh ! I think parents who do this are egotistical jerks.
Normal to be irritated, but hatred? Not your business really unless you're a Junior yourself, in which case just change your name! I could never work out why the boy called Sue didn't do that, but I guess that doesn't make a song, does it?

By your thinking maybe we should just wait until the child is old enough and let them name themselves? Parents get to choose the names of their children, that is part of the job. If they choose to pass on their own first name that is their right and it is really none of your concern. How or why they choose their own name is also none of your concern.
If you don't think a parent should pass their name to their child what I would recommend is that you don't name any of your children after yourself, and not concern yourself with what other people choose to do with their own children.
Your original responce that I got in my email was that you are entitled to your opinion, but I see you edited your response pretty drastically. To the original and sensible response, yes you are entitled to your opinion, I agree 100%. That is why I told you to if you don't like it, don't do it with your kids. But other people are also entitled to their opinions and if that is how they choose to name their children that is their right and none of your concern.
Regarding your edited response above, as I don't believe it to be serious I don't think it requires a response.
