I hate wearing uniforms and having a dress code at work!

I like to express myself. Knowing I have to wear the same damn thing to work everyday makes me feel trapped. I feel like an average joe. If I was getting paid a million dollars then I probably wouldn't care. I don't know why it affects me so much. Clothes have a huge impact on the way we feel and project ourselves to the world.

Funny. Didn't you accept the job knowing you would have to dress that way? What's changed?
I guess you are expressing yourself here, huh?

You mean like mall cops? Not so much.

That must be boring. But look at the bright side: you don't have to think of what you are going to wear, which is also something that (if you do it every day) becomes boring and time consuming.

Well then quit and go work somewhere else. That seems like a simple solution. I would prefer uniforms. One because the cost of uniforms or a uniform service is tax deductible and secondly, I don't have to waste time deciding what to wear the next day. Furthermore, I don't have to worry about messing up clothes that I want to keep nice. So quit and make a spot for someone who wants to have a job. Uniforms or not.

Here's a thought - dont come to work and go home from work in your uniform!

Dress codes suck, i had one in middle school and had to wear a uniform. I hated it. But truth be told, it kept everyone on the same page. What you wore to school was the same thing everyone else wore, you cannot wear a hat or baseball cap, you could not display colors that were outside the dress code. It was meant to keep things as civl as possible.

Im an adult now, and it has been a while since i have been in a uniform that i was proud to be in. Proud to represent.

All im saying is, save your personality for outside of work. Or, just find a job that allows you to "express your individuality". It's probably difficult for you to find such a job...

However on the other hand, there are most likely millions on this planet who would give up their souls just to be in "a" uniform.

I wish I could wear anything I wanted to work as well instead of red all the time, but in the end, there's nothing one can do about it. It's part of life. It's made me appreciate those times when I'm off and I can wear my regular clothes more.

Yep. Red shirt and khaki pants. I'll be wearing black soon once I start at the Starbucks there.

Yerp. September 14th is the day when they'll finish making the Starbucks. I already wear dark clothing, so it'll be like dressing like I normally dress. yay!
