I hate times new roman

Serif fonts are better...thy are more clear. Sans Serif fonts like Helvetica make 'I' and 'l' look the same

It really makes no difference. It's just a font. I didn't know some people were so emotionally effected by fonts.

Yes, very much so. Times New Roman is an overused font. I always find it refreshing to see another font in use. However, I feel that their not much of a variety of fonts being used in literature or other things. For once, it would be nice to see Protection (I think that's what it's called), Wingdings or Papyrus being used!

Comic Sans is so hideous. I've had countless teachers that make their worksheets in Comic Sans and say something like "I love this font! It's so fun!" It's so ugly.

Have you seen the documentary "Helvetica?" It is rather enlightening.

I think what a lot of people fail to realize is how much design and typography effect and define who we are; everything your using was designed to make it apealing. I like DIN bold a lot :)

@Schythl - Verdana is quite nice.

For me it's Arial all the way, though. I've worked in graphic design for years and I am obsessed, in a way, with fonts. I'll sit and stare endlessly at font books like it's a flash tattoo magazine (is THAT normal? haha). But overall I prefer Arial. Simple, no serif, and it makes everything more professional looking. I'm also a web designer and find that amateur websites are loaded with page after page of Times Roman. It's a very easy thing to change in the code when designing the page.

Georgia is one of the best serif fonts out there, but my favourite ever font is Verdana.

I'm glad you posted this because I was also wondering if it was normal. I always found san-serif fonts to be more aesthetically pleasing. Scientific studies have also disproved the idea that serifs make text easier to read.

I remember a comedien making a joke about this recently but as soon as he said it I was like "Hey, I hate Times New Roman!" it really does annoy me far more than it should.

Yes, its a really irritating font with all the spindliness and extra bits. Get Word 2007, default font is now Calibri - much nicer!

YES, dude I'm like that. I hate reading books and stuff in it, and I ALWAYS change the font on Word and stuff.
