I hate when people use text abbreviations like LOL, or even stuff like k. Is this normal?

    Haha I use lol sometimes, and brb and rofl but I HATE when people say ily instead of I love you.

    I don't like it either, but yet I do it when texting people for some reason. Its just way faster and some phones only allow 160 characters. Like mine! So you just kinda go with the flow and get use to it I guess.

    I got used to typing that way when my job was customer service on the phone. I had to document what the customer was saying while talking to them. Had to type fast because there was someone always in que.

    People shouldnt type "ily"... "I love you" is so much better!! Its normal that you feel like this because I do. But "lol" isnt a bad one. I prefer "lol" to "hahahahahahahaha"

    It has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence. Some people simply enjoy life too much to bother being annoyed by something as trivial as text abbreviations. Relax, people.

    I agree. I always write a normal sentence when I text. It does not take any longer and I still maintain some semblance of intelligence.
