I hate religion extremists

Once I was sitting quitely, peacefully at a pavillion. Some religious guy approaches me, trying to convert me (of course). He argued that, like the universe, the pavillion is evidence of a creator. I noted how the pavillion is evidence of human beings and nothing more. He didn't bother arguing beyond that.

Well.. yea I don't believe they people should rub their religion and beliefs in your face..but if you look on their side, its pretty reasonable why they would do that. First, they REALLY DO believe that people who don't believe in Jesus will experience hell after life. Secondly, Hell is so REAL to them as well as heaven. They KNOW hell exist and hell is suppose to be a place of torture and much suffering. And finally, knowing that hell is real and that hell is where people go if they don't believe in Jesus, they feel scared for others and make it their obligation to try to prevent it as much as they can, even if it means comming to peoples faces and sounding preachy. Lots of christians know it will sound pushy or preachy and even feel uncomfortable about it also, but they do it because they feel that it's more important than themselves. So really, don't take it harshly. When they're evangelizing and seem like they're forcing faith on you, what they're really saying is, "I believe hell is REAL. I believe people who don't believe in Jesus will go there. I don't want you to go there. I am talking to you because I care about where people are going in their afterlife; I care about YOU. and I'm hoping to see you in heaven one day and enjoy joy and peace till forever."

As much as it's a pain in the ass, this world will always be full of "bible thumpers" and people trying to shove their religion down your throat. you just have to learn to deal with it and try to be patient with them.

Religion is bullshit, there's no such thing as a soul. Christianity is like masturbation, should we listen to Mr Jesus making a complete childish weirdo arsehole of himself? The 'soul' is evil, I read about 'souls', it's weird and scary. You never see anything nice in the 'afterlife', it's all grim reaper loves death you see a light. It's bullshit! Has or has God not talked to you in a strange horrible voice? He only loves one person and it's not Jesus.

Here is what I did:

I read the book!

Read the Bible, then, when the zealots come to you, ask them questions about what they believe. Here, I will give you a head start:

2 Kings, Chapter 2 Verse 23-24. Look it up. It involves a guy named Elishia (no I don't mean Elijia). Elishia was Elijia's deciple and the 2nd most powerful man in the Bible. He did all the miracles that Jesus did with the exception of comimg back from the dead himself. He was SO HOLY that merely touching his bones after he had died brought another man back to life. If Jesus was God's right hand man, then Elishia was His left.

Read the passage and question the faithful on it.

However, do not cop out here and just take my offered passage out of context and use it against them. READ THE BOOK! There are some people who have and actually follow the teachings of Christ. Those are good, albeit, rare, people.

Read the Book, draw your own conclusions, and if you come away, as I did, not a Christian, you will be able to say why and get those who wear the badge of Christianity to actually THINK.

However, if you do not read the Book, how exactly are you better than them? If you do not read it, how can you say that the faithful have no redeeming value? They take on faith, usually without knowing what is in the Book, what others have told them is in it. How are you any different if you conclude, without examining the evidence yourself, that they are wrong.

If you are an Athiest, as I am, be an informed one. If you are a true-believer, but you choose to believe in that there is no God, you are no better than them.

oh but they are just trying to save your soul from burning in hell for eternity with the heathens and rapists and jews!

Wow. I am all about poetry and self expression but that poem was very disturbing. I am going to pray for whoever posted that poem and for all the Satanists in the world. LOVE is the only way and my FATHER GOD is love love love.

HE created all life and animals, as well as the air we breathe. GOD is very special and to have a personal relationship with him is to have a beautiful thing. Yes life is full of trials and tribulations and sorrow, but through it all HE loves us. I pray that you come to someday have a relationship with HIM. He is waiting to give you everlasting life. HE wants you to live with him and all of the angels and JESUS Christ and all of those who have gone on home. Please believe in HIM. HE believes in you

I think there are extremists on both sides (religion and aethism)....people need to focus more on intelligent discourse and after that let people just be....I definitely fear religious extremists more than aetheist extremists...

i think christians arent the best example of taking the religion seriously as they are fairly moderate.. muslims tend to be too aggressive about it..
if ur not a muslim, ur a pagan. even if u do believe in god(s) ur still a pagan. and ur a bad person and deserve to die.. but they say its not true and that its peaceful. hell all religions are somewhat bad.

Let me get this straight? There are Muslim extremists who use use violence in a wide scale (and they've proven for 1,400 years that will do so whether we fight with them or not so don't lecture me about the war). Muslim extremists murder, intimidate, suicide bomb and terrorise people, innocent people, such as monks in Thailand. And what do you choose for your list of religious extremists? Some Christain who asks you to go to church? A Christian who happens to be preachy? BIG DEAL! Just tell him to shove off. There are much worse extremists than Chritians. Modern day extremist Christians are nothing compared to modern day extremist Muslims. If you think otherwise, then give me a list of incidents and dates of Christian extremist criems because I can send you a list of Muslim extremist crimes. And believe me. It's a long list.
