I hate pda when it involves me

Is it normal that I *hate* public displays of affection with my boyfriend? I mean, I'm really open-minded in the bedroom and stuff, lotsa fun, I just HATE it when he wants to drape himself over me or kiss me in front of my family? Is it normal to not like that? I don't want my family who raised me to see that!! I don't really mind other peoples' PDA, unless they're totally making out or humping each other...in which case I'm like, what am I supposed to do, say "Aww!" and stare or whistle and look the other way?!

I hate it too, especially in front of my family. I feel like everyone's watching my every move, and it's always awkward.

I'm with you on this one. It's very uncomfortable for me as well. Thankfully, the person that I'm with feels the same way. Save it for behind closed doors.

I meant tongue-kissing, kissing the neck, etc. It just seems too intimate in front of family!

Making out and necking... that is a bit inappropriate in front of the parents. Then it is normal to not want to show THAT kind of affection in front of them. Yeah, no one wants to see that... lol.

Not normal. Would you feel awkward kissing your Mom or Dad in front of people?
When you really love someone, no one else's thoughts or criticisms should matter. And your parents should be especially happy for you... unless of course you are really ashamed of him. Which is exactly what you are saying without saying it.

wow kissing your parents in front of people is different. That's a peck of a different kind of affection, you would definitely be embarrassed frenching up your parents in front of other people. I hate doing stuff in public. No your problem completely normal.. maybe mention it, in the gentlest, least bitchy way possible

    Eva is dumb. Ignore her.

How long have you two been dating? And yes, it's normal to feel that way.

What you're feeling is very normal. In fact, it's a social norm. Anything more than a hug, peck on the lips, or holding hands would be breaking that norm. To the more extreme side, like in Muslim countries, such displays would label one a harlot and could even lead to stoning.

It's safe to say that the expression "GET A ROOM!" exists for a reason. Romance is a very personal and private thing after all. It stands to reason that it be conducted in private.
