I hate new music

I'm 18-going on 19. I hate new music...why??? Because it all sounds the SAME. The record companies never like a different or unique sound. I'm a huge fan of classic rock and classic country music. 50's 60's 70's 80's and early 90's. However I like a few new bands that are acually good, and have been around since the 90's such as Dropkick Murphys and Rammstein. Because they are different. I like zz top, pink floyd, queen, black sabbath, led zeppelin, ect. Classic country I like waylon jennings, alabama, johnny cash, johnny paycheck, eddie rabbitt, eddie arnold, marty robbins, willie nelson, john anderson, tanya tucker ect.

plz tell me no one else is brainwashed by this popular tween buble gum pop style music and new country that sounds like pop but with a fiddle, and rock that just sucks and lacks guitar solos...

Yep this new stuff that passes for music isn't worth listening to. Record companies should stop blaming loss of sales on illegal downloads and realize that music manufactured by corporations just isn't good. Music is made by musicians not some corporate study groups

I think you need to realize that there's more music out there than what the radio plays, you seem to have a very limited taste in music, especially if you think rock needs guitar solos.

Good job panda saur. Those are great bands, all of which I listen to often.

The reason for this fad is that the majority of people are followers. They just listen to what the "cool kids" listen to. It all starts with the young kids. I'm goddamn lucky I broke off early.

I can't say I hate new music, but the 'mainstream' music is the shit that's terrible. I listen to practically everything except for country, pop, hip hop, and the like. That includes mainstream.

Dubstep, house, electronica, indie, reggae, rock, and some other similar genres are what I listen to, though that isn't everything. People need to stop following fads, and find some shit thenselves

You, and everyone else that despises "new" music are all the same--you claim to listen to old stuff to stand out, but because so many of you are doing it, you become all the same! That music isn't even of your time; you weren't part of that generation and never will be. Stop hating on new music; believe it or not, the "classics" were new at one point.

    Pathetic.

      you are an ass!

    • I don't do it to stand out, I do it because It's what i like. Yes I realized my 50 year old dad is from that generation, but he is the one who introduced it to me. And yes, it was all new at one time...and now it's old now and is still good and will always be good. There are alot of people like us who are all the same because they like the same music...like i said, i'm not listening to it to be different...if you cant understand that, then I just don't know...

Let me rephrase...all new music is not bad...all new music from THIS generation is bad.

      @Keng

too true. Many people listen to classics, but again, they were new and overlistened to at one point.

However, I think the older mainstream was better. I can sound the same as justin beiber if I used auto tune, or had some randon person write my music (though I'm sure mNy old popular bands had someone wrote their music).

Dude, are you some lost twin of mine? I feel the same way. We should get together for a round of beers man! The classics from the mid-50s to the 90s are gold!
    Rock and Metal for life!
Out of 25CDs in my car, 21 are rock and metal. Three are 80s and 90s hits (pop, disco). And the last CD is new music, made specially for my girlfriend.

The modern dross sounds all the same and the lyrics are so stupid. It's like they were written by a retarded monkey.

I'm guessing that you like the first song in the whole world. Nah! Just kidding! But I do enjoy 90's songs.

I listen to mostly 80's and a lot of early-mid 60's and late 50's music. I HATE modern music.

You ain't alone. Huge Muse and Cage The Elephant fan here.

New music is shitty repetitive in lyrics and tone, with no instruments but synth drums and songs where people flaunt their bodies and autotune their shitty voice.

Wow, I'm the same! Do you know how freaking crappy the music is these days? My mom and dad think the same. I love the classic swing music from the 20's, 30's and 40's and classical music, as well as jazz. Don't get me wrong though, I do like some though, not very much though. Friends are always telling me about these people named chris brown and justin bieber, and I have absolutely no clue who those people are, but their songs are hideous!

  • YES! I feel the same way! Alright, i wouldnt mind if they play that crap but with something new. BUT NO they replay the same songs over and over on radiostations.

you are my new best friend! I hate todays music and i too love the 50's, 60,s, 70,s and some 80's! I personally think music went downhill in the 90's and has been shit ever since! As for country, i love the stuff :0) :0)

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I like some new music not the stuff on the radio but emilie mover and Tim myers are good:) but the 60s had the best music the beatles beach boys and hermins hermits!!

You're not the only one. If it were up to me, any radio station that decided to play this new stuff should be fined a million dollars and then be told to get off the air until they play something decent. I've found myself listening to Classical music instead of this sudden "fad" of Rap, Hip Hop, "Bubble Gum Pop".

It's a bad alternative, but I'm with you, things have definitely gone downhill in the music area of the world.

On the other hand, evetually people have to start using old ideas, because there's simply so much music out there, that's getting harder and harder to be original. But still, that shouldn't stop them.
