I hate living in canada

I started hating Canada when I realized that the country is full of ignorant people and gives you no freedom to live your life. Friends that I made are all temporary friends. I have no friends I can really talk to, which makes me lonely. I don't drink, smoke and play games. I focus mainly on achieving my goals in life. As everyone lives the similar way that I don't, it is super terrible to live in here if you are not their clique. The way Canada is now, gives you no choices if you really think about living freely. All provinces have very similar laws. They expect us to live our lives the same way in this country. When you compare Canada with another country like USA, you will notice how not free Canada is. One serious thing I also want to talk about is the defense of one self and property. Why don't they allow us to defend our property using force? If we do, expect to get charged. Just look at David Chen, Ian Thompson and Brian Knight. For this reason, if I have lots of money I won't live in here because of their "no common sense laws". YOU GET ROBBED AND YOU CAN'T RESIST THE CULPRIT. I would rather live in the US for this reason alone.
By the way, THIS POST IS FOR PEOPLE WHO HATE CANADA ONLY. THE REST OF YOU JUST IGNORE THIS.

never compare life of people in a regular country to a mid. east place. To compare the Mid. east to the west drops the bar so low its buried.

Very, very good point, but really, Canada is one of the strangest places on earth.
They completely bankrupted the country because 5% of the population didn't choose to read English. Their "free" medical care will dole out codeine without a script, but a mild sedative used to quit smoking needs a script, a local address and one to be fingerprinted.
All liquor stores are government owned, open only during limited hours and all liquor prices are government controlled, which means no deals available.
I've driven the AlCan highway 4 times and though it is a two lane road, it is as wide as an 8 lane super highway in most places, with almost no side roads outside of the few towns, but the speed limit is 62 mph! Insane!
Almost all the Canadians I've met in Canada have been very nice, pretty laid back and a bit simple minded. It seems the smart ones get out and stay out, until they are forced back by some pretty arcane laws.

Sounds weird... I don't think I'd like it there. How's Spain?

I really enjoyed Spain, but to be honest, I haven't been there since the EU formed and that could make a huge difference. When they had the Paseta, the place was pretty cheap, some visits.
I believe Portugal would be a better country to live in though.

Health care does suck here, liquor access is scarce. Is usually a 30-120 min walk to liquor distribution centers. So dial-a-bottle makes the profit, convenience stores are everywhere, furthest away I have been to one was like 30 mins and the liquor store was 3 hours away. That's a huge profit loss they don't allow licensing in convenience stores.

Yeah most roads here are ridiculous, the speed everywhere has a choke hold on it. The intersections are not designed properly, the highway has no proper safety precautions implemented.

Our cities not like anywhere else are pretty bad when it comes to budgets, the people are reflection of the education/environment and since the textbooks are coming from the states, and the lifestyle is pretty laid back simple can be an understatement.

Our law/federal government come from the crown in a lot of cases is a bit old fashioned. Only smart province is Quebec, they make the rest of us look like we have sticks up our ass going yes Mame, no problem Sam which is pretty ironic considering the all ready simply stereotype.

        We didn't start the fire!

From Skagway it was a 120 mile ONE WAY drive to the closest supermarket, in Whitehorse. Pretty much a whole day to do some shopping. One thing Canada does have is space, and plenty of it!
And at least the parts I saw up north were very pretty, with lots of wildlife.

My life in Canada is all misery. Canadians are mean, very ignorant. Everyone seem to have the resting bitch face or something. Forget about hat kind Canadian stereotype. Canada is known for its nature, etc... There is much less stuff to see in Banff, Stanley Park, and 1000 islands than they see. Plus, it is one of the most boring places in the world. A day of looking around the polluted grimy weather and done. Everything in Canada is so much more expensive than other places. I don't know how many times people tried to break into our house, reported to the police and they just did nothing. I know that they weren't even paying attention to what we said. People in the school are armed with guns and knives. Also, more than half of them smoke weed. I want to move so badly from this place. DO NOT EVER MOVE TO CANADA IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING.

go to Syria, Iran...? those were never civilized countries how does comparing Canada to them make a point? Canada use to be a place to be proud of, make a home, raise a family and be patriotic, now! open door for immigrants (not all) who left a third world country for a better life and they show up here and want to change it to what they left. Canada's work force is made up of 66% public sector workers of those 96% are union with absolutely no clue what it would be like to have a real job or run a business . Our police are corrupt, protected by a union and operate with total impunity. In this country you are guilty until proven innocent. People who have worked hard enough and been lucky enough to make a good living are targets for low life scum and a diseased legal system that want to take it from you. A country where social assistance and free medical is doled out to people who don't need it don't deserve it and will "typically" never be more than a burden on society. I own two companies employee about 25 people and I live in fear of the MOL, CRA, UAW, when they show up to justify there existence no matter how perfect everything is they will find a way to make you pay either directly or defending yourself. I truly look forward to the day I can close my doors and let those lazy, brain dead, useless union parasites that pretend to work here become the governments problem. Canada is a great country..if you're a lazy piece of shit and you figure someone owes you a living. "there will never be peace as long as there is religion"

You are comparing apples with omelets. USA is so badly screwed socially, financially and mentally I think the best option is for states like Texas, Virginia, etc to secede.
Canada does have a nanny-state mentality to it which is an import from the UK under PM Tony Blair and neo-liberliasts and other dregs of far-left wing academia who bumbled their way into politics looking for an even cushier job as a life-long permanent bureaucrat in an over-sized government.
So yes, I grant you for the size of its population- Canadian government is far too large and intrusive- which is not normal but an abnormality (it is in fact a form of corruption, collusion and nepotism but most are too thick to see the wood for the trees).

Why don't you move to Texas. You can defend your property with deadly force in Texas.

I was raised in Texas, and I miss it quite a bit.

I swear to god I'm from Toronto and lived in Canada for my first 18 years on my 2nd year of University here are the reasons why I hated living in Canada my mom is a U.S. citizen from New England I've always loved the USA and am glad I left.

    1. It's the Weather: I lived in Toronto and for 8 months you can't go outside and enjoy yourself. It's bullshit and always fucking freezing which makes people bitchier at you!

    2. Lack of friends you can make: Many Canadians are very cliquey and have limited interests. Most Canadians hang out at walk in clinics or Tim Hortons no places to socialize what so ever.

    3. Miles of nothing: We have little outside of Toronto, Ottawa, Niagara Falls and Vancouver. Just miles of worthless land and frozen shit.

    4. The Taxes: Granted we have free health care which no one dare criticize but also taxes. My mom was a housewife when she came to Canada and due to the U.S. tax abroad policy didn't work in Canada to avoid paying taxes for the USA and Canada. My dad as a Law Firm owner keeps getting fucked over by the government. The government in Canada hates the rich unlike the U.S.A.

    5. The Anti American politics: We see ourselves as the epitome of the West. This usually means laughing at Americans and calling them bigots. Also Self Defense is fucking Illegal in Soviet Canada. Guns are next to impossible to get limiting outdoor activities.

    6. The Nanny State Mentality: Books can be banned and like England we have bullshit "hate speech laws". This is due to the police state mentality of Canada and the bullshit politicians.

    7. The School Teachers: Toronto public schools were the worst. The teachers acted like robots and behaved as such. They are the most uncreative people you can think of and repeat the same bullshit.

I hate Canadians, not Canada. The country is beautiful and rich; the nation is self-righteous, lazy, rude and has an unfounded self of entitlement. Too many terms of Liberal governments have created a "someone else should do it for me" complex. And whoever says Canadians are polite has never driven a car in Ontario. Ontarians would sooner you crashed into a barrier than let you merge into an overcrowded, poorly planned highway lane. My ancestors came to Canada in the 1700s and so I don't have the option to leave. I have a degree but it is not in a high-demand field. Although my taxes pay to resettle foreigners here, regardless of skill, there are no programs to my knowledge that use my taxes to help resettle Canadians in more sensible states. Note to Asians - when a Canadian holds a door open for you, it is customary to say "thank you". Please learn our customs.
