I hate ice

I realised a couple of months maybe years back that I have a phobia of ice. If I think about eating it, or touching it then it makes me cringe and makes me feel weak. I have eaten ice in the past but I can't stand the idea of it now. I can't have it in drinks, or eat ice lollies or use freezers that have it.

Is this normal and has the phobia got a name?

I'm not afraid of ice but the thought of eating it makes my teeth hurt. Even the noise an ice tray makes when you twist it to loosen the ice. Ugh. I can't stand when peolpe chew it, or bite ice pops. And the sound that snow makes when you walk in it gives me the chills (not because its cold ) its like if you take a cotton ball and rub it between your fingers ewwww I hate that!

Are you sure you're afraid of ice? Maybe you just have sensitive teeth and/or don't like cold things.

Ha, I LOVE ice! I got it from my mom because that's all she ate when she was pregnant with me. I feel weird because I can eat about three full cups of ice daily...especially crushed ice, i find it very delicious :)

      Me too.
Our old fridge had a freezer that would have ice form in it. I would often get a knife and chip out chunks of ice to eat.
That fridge has since gone so now I just stick with ice cubes.
      I love the stuff!

Sounds like a phobia. If it disrupts your life, seek help. If not, just ignore it.

lots of people are scared of lots of things so its not rare.. but its not really that normal... you might want to see a therapist or something about it. you cant live your whole life being afraid of ice.

Thats not normal at all. Infact thats extremely Abnormal. Your afraid of ice? Well picture this. Your walking home and the tempature is beginning to drop extremely fast do a freak climate change. To get home you have to walk over a bridge the goes over a rushing river that leads into a lake. The bridge snaps and you plummet into the river. It rushes you into the ice cold lake. The water fills your lungs and you try to swim out but the water begins to freeze in your lungs. You scream but instead desperate airless moans come out and fade into darkness.

I have seen a talkshow where a chick had a phobia of Jello. Also there others with a phobia of chewing gum, ballons, birds even peaches.

So heh from those examples I mentioned above - your one is pretty "normal".
