I hate how racists are approached!!
I've noticed that when people receive a racist, they tend to be very loud, booing and getting in their face. I don't see it too much in real life because the issue doesn't come up often at all here where I am and with my friends and acquaintances, but definitely on TV (news, talk shows, documentaries) and on online forums and discussions it's pretty obvious and prevalent.
I don't think it's the right way to go about the topic!! People all getting in a guy's face, calling him names, telling him how ignorant he is, do they expect him to listen? Then come the same old, tired "words of wisdom" like: "What if your daughter marries a black man? What if a black doctor saves your life?" and so on and so forth.
I think not only does this make the person more closed off to listening, but they may also feed off the reactions they get.
I wish all people would be more tolerant, and that includes the vicious anti-racists!! Calm down, be patient and tolerant, jeesh kill 'em with kindness, it's more effective. I think making more subtle points and letting life show people that the hate isn't necessary is best.
is it normal to think the anti-racists can be just as bad as the racists and should change their approach?
