I hate eating cereal with milk because it grosses me out

I'm not even kidding. Its a legitimate problem. I really hate eating cereal in milk because the thought of all the germs floating on/in the milk disgusts me to the maximum. I dont care that the germs are from my own mouth. AND. when the milk falls from the spoon back into the germy cesspool of milk it really irks me.

I would go with the toast idea.

Then don't eat it. Instead, you could eat scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, hash browns... heck, I eat vegetable stir fry for breakfast believe it or not.

I've had some OCD issues in the past but this little made up dilemma never even crossed my mind. That probably sounds a bit rude, sorry. I say 'made up dilemma' because that's what your milk thing is and I used to have many. These imagined problems ended up causing all sorts of hassle and stress, not just for me, but for people around me too. Thankfully, I've since learned that as long as I live hygenically I'll be ok and I know now that I don't have to be in control all the time and things are still ok! I hope you get what I'm saying as I'm concerned your milk thing could be the start of some kind of OCD. And OCD is not fun, let me tell you.

  • Wow, I found someone JUST LIKE ME. I absolutely refuse to eat my cereal with milk for the exact same reason. It just doesn't feel right as I can eat it with milk...on the side. Very odd but you are normal at least to me.

Leave some milk out and let it go bad, then smell it. Then you'll understand that fresh milk is just fine, unless you're lactose intolerant.

    Ever heard of pasteurization?

Yeah, we mastered that a long time ago.

Well, I have to say that I myself have some slight OCD problems. I like straightening stacks of books or papers, if I have more than one pencil then they all have to be facing with the lead pointing towards me, vertically, I don't like my foods to touch each other a lot(Though, I'm not going to get all upset just because it does),I don't like to let my room get too messy, and I don't like cleaning dishes because they feel pretty gross and are covered in germs. But, you, on the other hand are irrationally afraid of milk. You're categorizing it to be germy just because it's milk, not because it actually has any bacteria in it. And, chances are, from the temperature inside your refridgerator, most of any germs in it are dead, not to mention to pasturization process. So, my advice is, stop overthinking it. being a little OCD is okay, but don't let it control your life.

Well...orange juice with some cereals is pretty good. I'm lactose intolerant so I've had to do that. If you have a "drinking my breakfast" issue then yeah stick with toast or an omelette or something.
