I hate digital music
I'm a musician. I play guitar, bass, harmonica, and I sing. I've found my own sound after about 8 years of honing my skills. My main influences are blues, rock n' roll, and late 60's-early 70's psychedelia. I give all music a chance, and enjoy a broad variety of genres. But I can't stand music created digitally, without the use of a traditional instrument, or music created by 'actual' instruments, but heavily modified digitally. In my opinion, it seems like a lack of true talent. Whenever I hear music of a few genres, not going to point any fingers, I get mad. Beeps and boops and wub wub wubs and loops. It sounds so cheap and plastic when placed beside someone playing a real instrument, expressing things directly from the mind and through the instrument.
My beef is with popular music because of the effect it will have on music in the future. I truly fear that one day the soul will be completely drained from music culture, replaced with pleasant fake sounds that will sedate us instead of inspire us. Is it normal to hate the garbage that passes as music?
PS: I realize "digital music" is a broad term, and that my above statements can easily be picked apart by people whom love to be technically correct and point out the exception to every rule. Just saying it before you do.
