I'm the same, I don't hate Christmas itself but I hate how it's become so commercialized, everything's just about getting the most expensive stuff these days. I've actually thought about celebrating Festivus instead this year (it's from a Seinfeld episode, I think it's a lot more fun than Christmas).
Why do u hate it?!? U get free SHIT!! You dont have to spend a dime!! You dont hav to be christian to selabrate christmas!! Its also fun!! (For comment above---> its not about mixed depression. If you have shit going on then its ok to tell somebody dont be an idiot and lie and say yur ok)
It's perfectly normal, first because christmas is a religious holiday so it's a load of shit from the start, secondly everyone has to walk around with a fake smile on even though holidays are just a mix of stress and depression
I hate christmas too. For years and years I was forced to celebrate it alone. Hard things usually occur during christmas.
Christman is a time for giving and sharing, and celebrating the birth of the Christian savious, Jesus H. Christ.
I FREAKING HATE CHRISTMAS...either being alone or jumping on a grenade by dealing with all the families bratty kids and odd old people while the rest of my family enjoys the peace without them
i don't like buying gifts and i don't like receiving them either. i'd rather give to charity than buy gifts for friends and family who can afford to buy their own stuff.
I like Christmas in a conceptual sense.
However I feel comercialisation has lead to an obligatory diatribe of purchasing the most expensive gift possible with little thought of purpose.
In my opinion, while it is nice to give gifts, Christmas is a time for good will unto mankind. Where we should all be happy and festive, loving and welcoming, instead of being preoccupied by the trivial, and focused on the incompetence of the populace.
What I mean is; Christmas is far more full of jeer than jolly, of fear than frolic.
