So normal it's practically common. Plenty of people get attached to fictional characters whether they're on tv, in a book, or even in their head.
One of my favorite characters ever died and I cried so hard. I was devastated D: I guess that makes me super attached too! Normal for me.
Totally normal. I've been known to cry a little when fictional characters die, especially characters in books. Sometimes I also cry a little when tragic things other than death happen to fictional characters.
I think this is perfectly normal. I mean... what good would it be for an author to spend time and energy coming up with relatable characters with unique quirks and personalities, write a backstory and provide insight into their thoughts and their lives, if they didn't want us to be emotionally attached to them? If I can't relate to or sympathize with characters, I can't even stand to finish the book. It needs to appeal to the reader, involve them and create a relationship between them and the characters in order for the story to have any real impact, the same way so many movies involve drama, tragic love stories and complications to keep the viewer interested. As you can probably tell, I absolutely love to read - I also write my own stories so I need to understand the workings behind an author's brilliant mind so people will react to them. Always appeal to emotion, whether you set out to make people laugh or cry or both, trust me, you're supposed to get attached to the characters. Otherwise... what's the point, really?
attached, yes, to cry...a bit much, but if it floats your boat, then at least the tears are going to good uses
