I get sad when i take a photo of my face

I'm 18 m and try to avoid being in photos. But I made up my mind to get on kik and be more social. For that it needs a profile pic. I found it hard to smile/not look depressing. I wouldn't call myself ugly. I don't have much acne but am a bit self conscious about my eye circles.

Not really crying just tearing up a bit and feeling sad. this is the first time I made a profile pic of my face. In every profile pic people have normal faces which look cropped out of a picture when they were with other people. my room or a bathroom just feels embarrassing to take a self photo in.

Hahahaha oh no, not eye circles!

Seriously, no one cares about eye circles except 50 year old women.

      • It's not a serious problem, it's a simple delusion.

And besides, who the fuck are you to tell the great cat anything.

You can use picnik.com photo editor to zapp those dark circles right on out of the pic before uploading it to a social network. And just take a pic elsewhere in the house :) hope I helped.

Most people tend to think that they are not okay on pics.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I've known a lot of people who hated the way they looked in pictures when, in my opinion they looked fine, no different from other people. Also taking a picture of yourself in your bedroom or bathroom is not that uncommon. Have you ever been on tumblr? A majority of the pictures used are of people alone in their bedrooms and it's a pretty common occurance on facebook to take a picture of yourself in your bathroom. Also I wouldn't worry about not smiling. I never smile because I feel I look weird and I also hate forced smiles. People tell me to smile in my pictures but I ignore it because I prefer doing what makes me feel comfortable. Sadly what you're describing is normal (I hate the way I look in most of my pictures too) but look at it this way: the fact that it's extremely common for most people to feel uncomfortable in their pictures means that a lot of people who feel uncomfortable in their pictures probably looks great to you. I can't change the way you see yourself, but you probably don't look as bad as you think you do. Sadly it shouldn't even matter what you look like but no one can hide the fact that in society it does and to tell you to not care about what other people think it easier said then done. I hope one day you can feel comfortable about yourself like you deserve to feel.
