Is this normal? I find it EXTREMELY annoying when people knock loudly. Just today, my sister knocked on my door because she needed something. I ended up not giving her what she needed because I got really pissed off that she knocked the way she did. LOL! I know this sounds ridiculous. But this really annoys the hell out of me.
Knocking is like handshakes. Don't do it too hard, too soft, for too long or not long enough. Don't use 2 hands. Don't get too fancy with it. And for the love of god, no touching of knobs beforehand.
This better be an emergency! run to the door fling it open yelling looking beyond for the escape route, like firecackers in a tree the bird will never land again :D ...i wonder if the dead animal on the fence is a deterrme nt , thanks good story

yes especially when i'm sleeping everything sounds a million times louder.when my sister and i shared a room i swear she would turn the door handle super loud if that is even possible, anyway scared the shit out of me every time
It's what we call a cop knock. I made a short film on the subject in college.
Oh, I hate it when someone obviously isn't watching their kid and the kid keeps knocking and pulling on the handle after you've already said 'someone's in here'. Seriously, get your kid.
I could understand your frustration.
I'm very sensitive to loud sudden noises,
for example, if someone in my house slams a door, I will jump and my heart will race. It's no surprise that I am scared of balloons popping, or loud thunder.
I hate loud, sudden, harsh sounds. Barking dogs, shouting, loud slamming of doors etc. So yes, I completely agree.
yes, knocking loudly can be irritating... to me its quite scary or shocking when somebody suddenly starts knocking like BANG BANG!! but knocking too low is also usually not help full...
maybe you usually don't respond immediately to the knocks thats why they do it...
I get mad when people knock really softly, and they do this during the day like they are trying to avoid a killer. Do you honestly expect me to hear that?
You need to get a glass door, like me. Loud knockers get severed arteries. Although there are several people who are used to me and they use a gauntlet to knock on my door. It's costing me a fortune in glass and the local museum has a bounty out for their suit of armour.
Do you usually have music, tv, or video games playing loudly? Do you wear headphones? Maybe she didn't think you would hear her.
