I find murder interesting in a weird way

Has anybody seen the First 48? It's a real life crime show and they show detectives solving murders in some US cities, anyways, they have shots of real dead bodies and sometimes it's pretty brutal. The crimes that people commit are mostly senseless, like a guy robbing someone for a couple hundred dollars and then shooting him in the head. It really f**king bothers me, but I'm SO interested in it, I seriously watch that show all the time, I want to be on a SWAT team and hunt people like that down, that would be the best job ever.
Anyways to the point of my question, my step-mom and other people (my boyfriends family) think it's really weird that I even watch these shows and get into it like I do, but i've been like that since I was 11, or I dunno, before that even, almost every book I read was a murder mystery or some crazy psycho killer book. The ones based on real life are WAY more interesting. I remember times when I was a kid and flipping through TV channels at night, watching real crime stories and being so scared of crazy people (I still am, but don't feel very vulnerable anymore, I pretty much feel like I could take anyone - which is why I want to be in law enforcement, so I can protect other people).
So... is that weird? Lol, I don't think it is.

    I think it's normal I love that stuff too. And it's not like you're interested in killing people, you want to STOP those kind of people, so that's a good thing.

    I love things like that too, my favorite books have a lot of death and twisted people in them

    I think this is a good problem to have. It will help you keep your cool if a situation does come around. If you find yourself to be a good candidate for law enforcement I say go for it!

    It's interesting to me too, in the way that there are psychotic people put there that think up crazy crap and do it. Where do the thoughts and ideas come from? That's the interesting stuff. Now, if you are so interested that you start to try and think of ways to kill people, then there is a problem. Otherwise I think it's human nature to be curious. Just don't go act out what you see to try and get away with it! Lol!

    to me and my best friend this is normal, instead of watching a movie we will watch csi or crimewatch or some thing about police and murder. :) x

    This is normal. I suggest getting a job in Forensic Science or becoming a Criminal Investigator or a Detective. Or if you prefer the body part of the show then perhaps a Medical Examiner (Coroner).

    I think its perfectly normal, i mean its like why would we read articles about murders if we dont find them interesting (Still find them sad and a shame but everyone reads them!) Murder in books and movies makes things well more interesting and tv shows like CSI just really are cool!

    i wouldnt worry about it, if anything at least u want to be on the good side of killing people and u dont want to go out and start murdering random people.
    i dont think there is such a thing as a healthy interest in death and murder but i get well into stuff like that, and i dont really see a problem with it, its natural for people to be interested in stuff like that

    Its cool as along as you dn't start wanking over it or killing people, but i love that stuff its soo interesting to try and understand why people kill
