I feel very uncomfortable

My husband has been very successful the last couple of years. Prior to that we worked very hard to pay the bills and save some money. I worked 3 jobs with an infant and didn't take maternity leave. My husband worked 18 hour days for close to 6 years growing his business. He has become very successful. I'm extremely proud of him, but he got an amazing deal on a Mercedes gla thru his job. It cost less then the Subaru I was looking at. But I feel horribly pretentious driving a Mercedes. How do I get over this, he bought it yesterday? I don't feel comfortable in my skin driving a Mercedes.

As a 1%er, I am used to the recognition an expensive car can bring. There is really nothing to worry about. You will be treated better for having a quality car. Congratulations on negotiating such a good price. Perhaps a Bart Simpson bumper sticker would make you more comfortable with your upward mobility.

Your husband sounds like a talented business man that will eventually put your family in the 1%. Take good care of him.

Valid point, good sir. I have a 2004 Toyota pickup I use on infrequent occasions to shop at Walmart, or go fly fishing. Hope yall's possum farm is making a nice profit this year.

Well maybe communicate with him that you don't feel comfy behind the wheel of the Mercedes? Honesty may take you furthest in that scenario IMO

Least its not a land rover. You do look like a dick driving a mercedes though, They're lame ass poorly made cars that die after 50K miles and really only serve as a status symbol because they're expensive to buy. You'd be better off showcasing your wealth by buying a $80K pile of cow shit that would at least be useful for fertilizing stuff.
