I feel sad when i see modern subway trains with no door closing chimes

So you have a modern, sleek, subway train with chrome finish, smooth doors and all the modern equipment like screens and such. But then, when the doors are about to close, there is no door closing chime (ex. beep, ding-dong, buzzing, jingle), but only an announcement from the conductor. I'm fine seeing them on older trains, but when I see modern trains with no chime, I feel depressed. When I saw that Moscow's and Busan's modern subway trains had no door chime I felt a wave of depression. There should have been beeping when the doors closed, not just a voice announcement. I'm usually OK with it if it's a long distance train, but when it's a subway train, I feel sad when there's no door warning (other than announcements).

Anyways, is it normal to feel sad over this?

  • I know what you mean! It's almost like a purple noise... It makes you feel good.
I hate going through any public door and not hearing a chime.

Were I come from everything beeps. At the end of the day I'm very happy to get home and be in silence.
Anyway why does people need noise all the time? I get tiered and hate it.
It's lonelyness or the Chinese/Japanese syndrome of the beep?

Where I live, the newer trains have chiming doors, but all the old ones don't.

I think the chimes on some trains are annoying.
