I feel like my ideas are being raped when i read books/watch movies

Every time I watch a movie or read a book, I can't help but feel that people are stealing my ideas. I will always think ''I had an idea that was so similiar!'' or ''I could have had an idea like that''. It's really horrible and these thoughts often ruin my movie/book experience.

For example, I've recently gotten around to reading the Game of Thrones series, and when I read it, I found myself obsessively trying to figure out what would happen next before flipping the pages. I get really pissed when my predictions turn out to be correct. I feel like someone just stole my ideas and published them without my permission. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of authors occasionally have the same 'ideas', but I still feel that way nonetheless.

Another example, when I was watching the movie Coraline, I got really mad as well. It was so similar to MY story, which also happened to be about a little girl and a mysterious door. It's really infuriating.

Help me please. Is this normal? Or am I just beinig a bitch over stupid things?

Trust me it happens all the time. I can't even begin to tell you how many ideas I have written about just to turn around and see it already done. If your a writer then you just have to keep writing and hope that your idea comes out just a little bit different than what the other guy did.

Some ideas are universal.. There must have been a thousand stories written based on a little girl and a mysterious door. Same with most ideas. I reckon anything you've read in 'Game of Thrones' will have been ripped off things written long before you were even born.
