I feel like i shouldn't be a girl

I am a girl who has grown up as a major tom-boy. For the past few years my clothing has been almost all mens. I nearly refuse to use a purse and would much rather carry a wallet around. I even flipped at a dance when i was younger because i had to wear a dress. Is it ok to feel like i should be a boy and not a girl?

  • Well, you could be one of the people who feels like the opposite gender
    so change your gender maybe?
or its just the way you are, major tom boy =]]
    btw, it is perfectly normal

  • I completely feel the same way! and besides, guy's clothes (especially jeans) are MUCH more comfortable than women's. i just wish my mom would understand -_- she flips out that i don't really care much for purses and girly clothes.

I feel like that too, only I feel like I should be a male drag queen cause I love to dress up, but I don't think like a woman or anything, I also hate purses.

Its just the way you are and you should accept that....if you like looking like a boy then go for it

I'm female and everything you describe sounds like me. I don't consider myself transgender though. I don't care what gender I am. I think it's more natural not to try to conform to a gender identity and people who try to be extremely macho or girly are weird.

    Boy-and-girl difference is just ideology.

compleatly normal, the thing is is that alot of people today are ignorant and when they see something that doesn't "fit" they just wont except it. that's one reason a just hate people because their ignorance is rediculous. i bet you probably feel like its a battle everyday with what people say to you. the most important thing is to be yourself. people are alwasy going to want you to be something different but whats important is you know who you are and one day if you feel the strong sence that your not compleate, look into surgeons and maybe think about a sex change operation. im not sure if any of that helped but hope you know your normal and awesome to be different and not care ! you have my respect :)

When I was a little girl, I thought I was a boy in a girls body. My mind thought like a guys. It was only when I was in my 40's that I found my feminine side. It is like I switch from day to day in my mind of what I am, a guy or a girl. I can be both and according how I am feeling for the day I either dress in guys clothes or dresses. I don't stress out about it anymore because I now have the freedom to express both genders and can feel what it is like to be in both genders.

It just means you are an intelliegent individual that does not adhere to the way girls are socialized. I am the same way and am respected because I am attractive yet I do not fuss over trivial things and people admire that- guys and girls. Natural women that wear what they find comfortable are the sexiest I've come to find out from my own experience and talking to other people. You are not normal, you are above average.

  • I'd rather be a girl than a boy, and I am a girl! But sometimes I just want less pressure to act a certain way... But I don't give into that pressure anyway, =P

Didn't read the comments, but many guys would kill for a tom-boy.

It is very normal, too bad there isn't a machine that could transfer mind waves to those who are uncomfortable in their gender can hook up someone who is of the opposite gender and wants to be your gender.

I think that, too. I think when women march around with make up and purses and classy clothes they look like such idiots. I would not describe myself as a tom boy...but I'm just an unique individual.

for some reason, society looks down on femininity as weakness. It's very stupid because weakness has nothing to do with gender. I don't even think physical gender always has much to do with gender. It's weird that people are expected to conform to a gender identity. they should just act natural and be themselves.

Could this be you feel that being a woman is somehow a bad thing based on some experience you have had?

I have a similar issue, except I am a male. I often wish I could be a girl and enjoy all the glamour and everything else that comes with it. I have had very little success on being open about it with really anyone. If I come up with something Ill let you know, and hopefully vice versa for you.

That just seems wrong to me, and although i cannot change your opinion i disagree with it. You are telling me you think its normal for females to dress and be however they want, but for males if they choose to do the same thing its wrong, and males should only dress and act like males? No offense, but i find that sexist.

i'm sorry but that has just always been my opinion, i don't really like homosexuals or bi-men.
I don't hate them i just prefer not to be friends with any, but off course there is always exceptions.
One day my best friend could tell me he's gay and i would've never known.

  • I realy think i should have been a boy, i have having to dress girly so i dont, i like things normal girls dont. I would love to pee standing up and be able to act the way i want but sadly stereotyping has made me scared to act how i realy want to, i have to keep a certain image that i dont like. I even want to have my boobs removed.
