I feel like he doesnt care about me anymore.

My boyfriend just recently aquired anxiety. I feel like he doesn't care about me anymore because he is always freaking out about something with himself. I have depression, and PTSD. So I feel like if I bring up something I would like to talk out with him he wont be focused on me. I love him but I really do need someone to talk to and he is one of the only people I trust. Should I just talk to him or am i blowing this out of portion?

if the majority of your conversations are about your issues, maybe your boyfriend is not capable right now or needs a break. who knows how much he can listen too.

christine is right in that psychiatry is a big money making industry.

News flash: Anxiety is a diagnosis created by psychiatrists and the drug industry to sell more drugs to kids (trust me, i'm working on my masters in psychology). Granted, some people DO have real anxiety problems that require medication but 90% of the people "diagnosed" with it have absolutely nothing wrong with them. Much like ADD, an anxiety diagnosis means nothing and is just another excuse people use to underachieve and act socially incompetent. Your boyfriend is more than able to give you the attention you deserve. He is simply using "anxiety" as an excuse not to. If you stop acting like a doormat and refuse to buy in to his excuses and hold him to a higher standard he will likely get his act together and give you the attention you deserve.
