I feel like a douche when i tell people i want to start a charity

I want to start a charity when I'm older and when people ask me what I wanna do I always feel like a bit of a douchebag being all like "I wanna start a charity" it just feels like it sounds very self agrandising

    You are a douche, people only start charities because they want to look good in public and be able to take most of the profits that everyone things are ‘going to a good cause.’

      You’re always so cynical and doubtful, there are probably a lot of kind, altruistic people who’ve started charities and genuinely want to relieve suffering in the world.

        I’m right though, just look at the type of rich assholes who start charities, they just like going to fancy parties, meeting famous people and taking all the profits without paying much tax. You can’t really blame them though, we’d all do it if we could.

    Who fucking cares what other people think? At the end of the day, actual charity involves helping people who need some fucking help, regardless of whomever has to say about whatever.

    If you legitimately want to start a charity, I have tons of advice. I've been in that world & worked there for many years. If you don't have time to reply, my one bit of advice: business degree, get one. You'll need it.
