I feel guilty when people actually get offended by my trolling.

I admit that I have submitted a bit of troll stuff all over the internet. But I sometimes run into people actually getting genuinely offended by me (like the Aussies on my "I want to punch an Australian for no reason" submission), and I feel guilty for hours. I laugh when I see tons of people going "uhh wtf" and "are you an idiot", but I feel guilty when they actually get offended. Is this normal for a troll?

Not normal for a troll, but a good quality for a person.

You should do the opposite and make people feel better, not bad. :)

    You good troll!

perhaps the guilt is your conscious telling you to stop?

Sympathy is a sign of weakness. You are a disgrace to the trolling community.

There are some truly horrible trolls out there though. Some R.I.P sites on Facebook have some really twisted, evil trolls, posting horrible jokes about the deceased, and sometimes even to living people. I can take a joke, like the posts you put on here, but I think that the type of trolling mentioned above is just sick and cruel.
As long as you don't do that sort of thing, I am fine with it, and the people who are offended need to lighten up.

    • I don't do that sort of thing. The only one I actually do is stuff like "Do [race] respond to stimuli" (even my own), and spam-trolling with annoying songs.

Maybe you should just stop trolling, and then you wouldn't have to ask this question. Just a thought...

Well, it's good to see that you actually have a conscious and recognize when you've gone too far. A lot of trolls don't care or even find it hilarious if their targets' feelings are hurt, or (as an extreme example) if their target winds up doing something drastic like committing suicide because of them.

Lolz you don't tend to see a lot of "good trolls" on the internet! Keep up the happy trolls and you can be the answer to asshole trolls! Hell, doesn't it count for double if you troll a troll?

  • Please this is a bunch of horseshit, no self respecting troll would ever feel guilty about doing it. I hereby revoke your troll status and troll membership. Never again can you refer to yourself as a troll. Unless this whole post was a devious attempt at trolling by faking guilt? If so, well done.

I love trolling, and I love being trolled.
    I find it hilarious.
Granted, I'm not very sensitive when it comes to complete strangers over the internet.
Some folks just take the internet way too seriously.
But it's a good thing that not everyone trolls, I love getting advice here, but it's nice to have a good laugh every now and then.

So I guess normal. If you actually have serious feelings considering anonymous people over the internet though, maybe trolling isn't for you =/

I've seen your posts and understood straight away that you were joking. I don't want to live in a world where people can't joke.

  • Well offending people makes you a good troll.

But i've been to alot of places and Australians are not people to pick fist fights with!

I don't want people to get offended when I troll either but it doesn't really bother me...

However, I don't troll that often and rather give advices!
