I feel depressed after leaving a scouts club i hated

I left my scouts team last week because I absolutely hated it. The people there were horrible to me, and I found it incredibly boring. I'd been a scout/cub for 9 years of my life and I'm 18, so it has been a part of my childhood (even if I view it as a negative one). But oddly, since I've left, I miss it so much, enough to really upset me. I know that if I re-join, I will despise it just as much as before, but if I don't, will I remain this upset? Do I need to give it time? Is this normal?!

It is time to leave the pack behind you and head off alone on your journey into manhood. You will face great danger at every turn, but use what you have learned wisely and you shall emerge triumphant.

Right now you are hanging onto different parts of your childhood. This is something that relates to being young, your innocent and sometimes fun years, even if you had bad or negative memories. Everyone usually hangs onto some form of their childhood, because growing up you will have more responsibilities and other activities. You will find events and activities that fit you soon enough, just give it time, and do things that you enjoy.
