I failed everyone

I started college and right from the start things went bad...i was trying to balance work with school, not to mention the fact that I couldn't stand going to a college that was located in the town I was born and raised in...I wanted to get away so bad but it didn't go that way...so i went into a spiraling depression and thought about ending it all...(if ya know what I mean) but eventually I quit school. Now Ima little happier and work all the time...should I have toughed it out? Is this normal or am I the only 1?

School isn't for everyone. If working makes you happier than kudos to you for following your gut.

Quitting school is failing? That isn't the only path in life. You're happy now and have landed on your feet. Keep going. If you want to go back, you always can.

What PoisonFlowers is saying is completely true. I've always been a working kind of gal, never really into the life of balancing school and work. In the summer when I work and do what I love (training and handling dogs) I feel happy and even on top of the world. I may be an A-B student in college, but I'll never be happy dancing between 'the man' and the professor as I will be when I do something that brings me purpose and joy!

I would suggest if it is something you want to do go to a college away from where you are, if you don't want to just work and get on your lifes path. Your at the point where only you should be writing your story.

So not worth it! You can't please everyone! Tell me, are the people you are trying to please also making themselves depressed trying to please you? Yeah, didn't think so! Take care of yourself first, always!

I won't say you should have toughed it out because you are obviously happier now. Maybe you can try again once you get where you want to be. Remember, you can't please everyone. Worry about your own happiness first.

I did that and ended going back 8 years later. Lots of changes took place in that time, and it was nice to be able to find myself. Piss on the world if they think you're a failure. Sometimes you just have to do for you.

wtf? person telling u he got depression n u go tell him hes bullshit? u feel good now?
u even thought bout considerin his feelings?
if author wanted to hear that he would done elsewhere, think bout it

u ain`t the only one, dont worry bout that,
its when u feel alone and the pressure
with the burden on ur back n
like theres no one else who could understand u,so u seek for the choice nearest to u,
try ta find ppl who could have at least an idea of what u went through,
      no reason to overthink things
all by urself on ur own i know that
