I drink alcohol for the taste

Most people drink alcohol for the buzz. Usually, I just drink it because I want to know its taste. Is that normal?

I actually prefer Canadian whisky myself. I will drink a beer every now and then and use it alot in cooking. But I drink whsky and beer for the taste. The object isn't to get buzzed. That is just an occasional effect.

Alcohol is yummy, but I hate getting drunk. So, wine with dinner is my game.

I like its taste too. I even drink isopropyl, and acetone, just to see what it's like and it's also good

Sounds like you have potential to become a skilled bar tender / mixologist

This is the least degenerate motive by which this liquid is imbibed, but the value of motives is far overrated.

I drink everclear only 95% ABV but I mix it. You don't like the taste of alcohol but if you must take a shot of the pure then I'd recommend first taking a shot of pancake syrup to coat your throat.

If alcohol was abolished, I'd probably drink non-alcoholic beer occasionally for the taste. But that's it. And I wouldn't have acquired that taste if it wasn't alcoholic in the first place.
People drink alcohol for the buzz; but it tastes like crap.

So I'm pretty skeptical of these claims...unless you're talking about specific, delicious drinks. Or drinking it out of curiosity.

There are many very good tasting beers out there, from all over the world.
If you are talking about the horse piss the major beer manufactures in the US produce (Coors, Bud, Miller, etc), then I agree with you completely.

There are. I don't even think the US beers are really that bad. But I'm a big beer fan, so any beer is good as far as I'm concerned.
But, I didn't always have that taste. And I probably wouldn't have acquired it if I didn't start out drinking for the buzz.

Try a non alcoholic drink. You get the taste minus the addiction and potential liver disease ;o
