I dream lucid dreams, i dream true dreams

Truthdreamer
I dream different types of dreams. When I was younger I learned to control my dreams and fly where ever I wanted to go. No wings are necessary. The first time I needed to cross a canyon. At first when I tried to fly I would wake up. Eventually I didn't wake up and had full control. One surprising result was that nightmares were no longer scary so they were boring.

My dreams come true but not always exactly like the dream. 22 years ago I moved from MS to FL leaving someone I still love behind (I was young and stupid). One night I dreamed she had been in a wreck and broke her leg. I called her mother and learned she had been in a wreck but only hurt her knee.

I dreamed my friend and I were cowboys. I thought this one was too weird and no way could come true but the true dreams have a different "feel" than regular dreams so I took note of it anyway. About a year or so later my friend and I went to a movie and during the movie I realized this had been my dream. I was able to tell my friend what was going to happen and what characters we were.

One night my grandmother's spirit came to visit. Standing at the foot of my bed, she said goodbye. My mother woke me in the morning to tell me my grandmother had died during the night at my aunt’s house.

Have you ever had dreams that were someone else's reality? I have….

Interesting comment. While I may currently have brain damage and PTSD thanks to my three tours in the desert in a military status, I don't think I'm dissociating from anything while having lucid dreams. Dreams are dreams meaning you are asleep. Lucid dreams simply means I am able to control some aspects of those dreams ie: the ability to fly. Sometimes real (ie a look into the future as some have come true), sometimes not.

However if you must know, I was smothered at the age of 2 months by my father until I turned blue and stopped moving according to my mother who shot him dead and save my life. (Google: Overstreet and National Enquire for more on that if you like.) Don't cry it's not a sad story as I grew up with Jesus as a father figure instead of an abuser which I think is better although I don't live that life now.

I don't think a 2 month old can have a dissociation to something at that age but it is an interesting thought. I have had lucid dreams for as long as I can remember although they have decreased as I've gotten older. If anything, I would think lucid dreaming is easier for the young simply because the young are open minded and not confined by facts so the brain is free to function at a higher level which also allows us to learn so much when we are younger. Sometimes I think dreams may be a contact to another reality or another life but who knows?

liz41582 your post was intriguing. Your symptoms sound more like trauma-brain injury. Dissociation is a way of coping with a threatening experience and living in a dream like state. Did something happen to trigger your lucid dreams? Do you feel tired often? Have you ever been evaluated for for post traumatic stress?

    100% normal.

I dreamed about 12 children many years b4 they were born (in my family). I dreamed about my own child 3 years ago and guess what? I have no one in my life (the future mother of my child) til this day.
I dreamed about a depression that I got long after the dream.
I dreamed about traveling that I did few months later.
    etc etc

    the list never ends

Its normal- I have lucid dreams all the time. Since I was little I have always confused reality with dreams. I can't remember if something really happened or I dreamt it. Such as my boss cancelling a meeting and I would have to call her and ask if she cancelled it because I didn't know if I dreamt that she had or she actually had. I don't dream predictions like you- but I have dreams of similarities so somthing will happen in real life that will trigger my remembering of a previous nights dream. Such as I turn on the tv and there are whales and the night before I dreamt about whales. I did have similar death dreams like the night before my grandfather passed away I had a dream that I was getting out of the back of a car and my Dad was standing there crying. This same scene occured the next day at the news of my grandfather's passing.

have you ever heard voices or felt things as you start to fall asleep? I've felt a hand or heard my name being whispered, I've also heard the radio when the radio is off. I've read about this ability on the internet too.
