I dont like most national anthems

Was researching this for school and was surprised to find I most national anthems are all about war and fighting. My own country(USA)is about watching bullets fly through the air, and Frances is pretty much about killing the tyrants.
England's just made me laugh "knavish tricks"? Bwahaha!) and seems ridiculously sycophantic
Canada's isn't too bad and Germany's kind of nice.
What do you all think, are there any that are actually cool?

      I'm going to go listen to anthems from lesser known countries now and see if I find anything interesting.

        Listening to them many are boring, but there are some pretty cool ones hidden in there. The performer covering the song makes a huge difference too. I really liked Azerbaijan by vocal national anthems on youtube. Aland Islands had a cool celtic theme too. I forgot the performer. There were unusual African ones and a lot of the former Soviet countries were cool.

      Russias anthem is really good. Most music from there is well composed.

    Nah not really in my opinion. They're too patriotic and I think patriotism is a laughable idea.

    I like them. They are terrible music, but it isn't music. It's a story. Often told by a drunk. And slightly distorted over the years. But I like stories. They instill a sense of pride and honor. These feelings may not be justified, but that is a different debate. But in general, I like how they bring people together.

    I've not heard it in a while but I remember really enjoying the Jordanian national anthem. It was very pompous and sounds like a King is about to enter the room. Nothing about it was modern and I loved the that it was still apart of their culture even though it was completely out of place in society.

    They all sound the same to me. They all have the exact same shallow sense of grandeur. These songs which require very broad appeal usually lack any personality.

      Part of the problem is nobody can sing it because the notes are so extreme!

    I've always liked the Hungarian anthem. I think the lyrics are about war also, but only slightly. More about hardship and praying for a good future. Himnusz, give it a listen.
