I dont believe that life is short and dont like that saying.

I never did like the phrase "life is short" every time I think to myself,we outlive almost every other living thing other then turtles,were here watching movies,going to work,making babies, going on vacations,and the longest wait known to man/woman is they eventual inevitable death,how can you say a possible 80-100 years is short,or even just 45 years? (I'm 21 years old,just don't think it sounds accurate)

    And you could die in the next ten seconds from any number of things. Life can be extremely short. Ask any mother who's lost a child in childbirth.
    Nobody is guarantying you 80 years or more. Check out the traffic incident (NOBODY calls them accidents any more) statistics. That's the most dangerous thing one can do and lots of people do it at least twice a day.

    I think you're comparing the lives of other species which is the problem. It's not that we're saying our lives are short compared to the lives of other species', it's that in the grand scheme of things, as in the life of the planet or the idea of existence, we've got a very short amount of time.

    "Life is short" doesn't refer to a comparison to other species, it's about dying before you get all your shit done.

    Within the last few years I've lost several friends. One guy was 43 and died from heart failure. He went straight to the hospital, but it was too late, he checked out before they got him on the operating table.

    A girl I know, 23, got in a car accident, dead instantly.

    Don't waste time, you could be gone tomorrow... or later today.

    Yeah I agree. And people say time flies and where does time go? I don't understand this. If anything time drags, but then again I don't enjoy what I do for work.
    The way people lament the passing of time though, I'm quite happy with it going slow.

    Its not supposed to sound "accurate". The things that you listed that we do like making babies ,working and enjoying is done by animals too. What matters is how you use your life to make a differnce to the world in a good way. "life is too short" is just a motivational phrase. For example : you are 21 but have you done anything to inspire or better the life of other people ? If not, the worth of your life is not any more than any pet who will also probably live upto 21 years. Give it a thought.
