I dont believe a lot of these accusations

So Anthony Cuomo now has 10 accusers who magically all decided to come out at the same time to pull the rape card. Right wing media is all over it saying it must be true, left wing media says there's no validity and wont even cover it. When the same thing happens to a right wing politician its the opposite. And left wing people do believe it without any evidence.

I believe that this MeToo bullshit is being used as a political weapon and I'm not really buying this bs.

    • It happens yeah but I dont think every celebrity, politician, and rich dude is a rapist. Its too many accusations to add up. How are all these guys gonna rape 20 girls each? Sounds crazy. Reminds me of highschool where a girlfriend started beating me up and I restrained her so she'd stop hitting me and the bitch told everyone I "slammed her on the ground" and beat her and shit. Dudes were trying to fight me over it, her brothers even dad

It's a minefield. I'm sure there are women who lie about rape in the hope of financial gain. I'm also certain that there are other women who engage in consensual sexual activity, regret it after the fact, can't reconcile what they've done with the person they want to believe themselves to be, and decide that the only way it could have happened was if they were manipulated and coerced.

People can be attention-seeking, avaricious, self-deluded and very confused about who they really are. Problems often arise from situations where our lizard-brain takes over and leads us to do things which conflict with what the part of our brain that puts a premium on always behaving in ways that are in accordance with our social conditioning. It's human nature to try to place all responsibility for our 'bad' actions on someone else.

Women are people, so it's inevitable that some of the accusations that have been made against men are baseless, and others are impossible to prove either way when the only evidence is the biased recollections of the two people involved, sometimes many years after the event.

Having said all that, it has always been the case that many men who rise to positions of power will abuse that power and use it to gain sexual gratification. Few people who end up being able to influence and control others get there by accident. It requires a certain driven, focused mindset to reach a powerful position in business or politics, and studies have found that such people are often psychopaths or at least have strong psychopathic traits. Part of the psychopathic personality is being able to present a glossy, friendly surface to the world, while secretly always seeing other people as merely instruments to be manipulated and used. Another very common feature of psychopathy is a strong sex drive. Combine those facts with the recent change in social climate about what's acceptable and what isn't, and it's not surprising that a huge number of allegations about powerful men have recently come to light.

Come on, you don't think that at least one of these accusations hold some validity to them? Accusations of false rape are from 2% to 10%. On average their are about 433,648 (age 12 or older) victims of rape each year in the US according to Rainn.org. The likely hood of at least one of these accusers telling the truth is so high that I'm sure Cuomo will be apprehended in some way.

    • Id believe them more if it werent happening to literally half of every politician celebrity, and rich person. I take it case by case. Some of them are definitely real but I dont just believe it automatically because abunch of girls came out saying it.

Seems like low hanging fruit too when one comes out like 20 more come out with their stories. And I dont believe there is that many rapists out there. And we are starting to water down the definition of rape. Where rape could be she regrets doing it then calls it rape afterwards. Or a guy slapped her on the ass in highschool one time and now hes rich so she has an opportunity to get money.

There was a boxer who got an accusation and lawsuit because he literally grabbed her and kissed a reporter on camera during an interview. She played a huge pity party in the media. Then someone released footage of her giving the boxer a lap dance at the party after the kiss. She was an opportunist. She wasnt raped. She just wanted money and victim points.

I even have my doubts on the harvey weinstein crap. It sounds like some of those girls screwed him to further their career then decided to stab him in the back for those sweet victim points when other girls came out. It was definitely inappropriate to use your boss status for sex. But if the girls deliberately engaged in sex with him to help their own career thats a decision they made and thats not really rape.
