I don't want to kiss but i'm ok with everything else

As a child i neglected my dental hygiene, and as a result i have a ton of cavities that were filled, and my brushing wasn't improved much until the early teens. Of course, i can and do brush much more effectively since then, but it seems like no matter what i do i can't make up for the neglect in the past; it still looks slightly yellowed and tastes off. I don't want to subject anyone to the mess that is my mouth, so i don't like or want to kiss anyone.

You're considerate clearly. Most people wouldn't mind your mouth though

I can see your dilemma, but remember, everyone has different perceptions when it comes to tastes, smells, and other senses. Your mouth may not seem bad at all to someone else. I'd say give it a try.

That's a normal concern. Though when you get the chance to kiss someone you love, go for it. You don't know for sure how that person will react. Better to know for sure if it's really that bad, than thinking something is a big deal when it's not.

That sounds like an understandable insecurity to have.

Brushing is actually the least important part as an adult, of course you still should for 2 minutes twice a day, making tiny circles and getting right up to the gums.

It is very important to floss at night, I do in the morning as well. As food stuck between the teeth causes problems.

Using a mouthwash is also important as it will kill 99% of bacteria in the mouth.

Given your previous issues I would try to see a prosthodontest or see if there are any affordable dentistry programs. Could also help with whitening and breath
